“Fantastic restaurant with a delicious meal. They were not able to accomodate us the first night so we made reservations for our second night there and thoroughly enjoyed the dinner experience- the wait staff was so attentive and the food and wine spectacular!“
“Very nice restaurant to eat in Lagos. Very nice staff and very good food. We ordered a cod and shrimp cataplana for two people, which was actually for at least four.
The garlic squid is recommended. And for dessert, the apple pie and the Algarve pie“

“Fresh and authentic cuisine. After trying our luck at a restaurant around the corner and unfortunately not getting a table, we asked the owner where he would like to eat. He recommended the Reis restaurant to us - the five of us just managed to get the last table. By 8 p.m. all the tables, inside and outside, were full and the line was getting longer and longer. Rightly so: there is fresh cataplana with plenty of excellent quality shrimp and mussels, and the rice stew with swordfish and shrimp was just as good. 40€ per dish for 2 people is almost too little considering the quantity and taste. Three people could be fed per pot. Our son (9 years old) had the pork steak with fig sauce - he ate it all, the sauce was so good and the meat was tender (he pushed the figs to the side ;)) We were very satisfied - the service was very friendly and accommodating. Great evening! (Total for 5 people with starters, main course and dessert + drinks 150€)“

“This place is incredible. The freshest ingredients that are super simple but create such massive flavor. I'm actually not a big pizza person, but this pizza is literally the best I've ever had. Great customer service as well. Please add this as one of your stops in Lagos, I promise, you won't regret it.“

“The best is the waiter who served us, very nice and super attentive to the kid. Both the tuna and cod tartare are spectacular, as well as the braised tuna and especially the cheese board. But above all, the chocolate mousse. The hour we had to wait is highly recommended.“

“The restaurant is located outside the center of Lagos, in a quiet area. There are few seats and this helps to guarantee a quiet and relaxed atmosphere and a very attentive and quality service. The waiter who served us was very friendly and good at recommending wine. The food is exceptional. We took Muxama de atum (perfect contrast between the saltiness of the tuna and the sweetness of the onion and orange), Camarao frito con ajo (not the breaded fried food you think but probably just fried in oil, with very good prawns and a amazing sauce), patanillas de bacalao (good), polvo at low temperature with batata duce (very tender, with an excellent combination with sweet potato, perhaps the best octopus ever eaten, really delicious). Fair price for the quality offered. I would stay here again and highly recommend it.“

“We ordered the tuna tartare and the sea bass ceviche to share and it was really a good option if you want to have a main dish afterwards. These dishes are very delicious and light and will give way to what comes next. For mains, I ordered the risotto with tiger prawn and my partner ordered the sea bass fillet with cilantro rice with razor clams and he also loved it.“

“They were incredibly friendly when we arrived at their restaurant without a reservation. They made room for us and set up a table for us right away. We ordered and enjoyed their cooking. They treated us great.
It started to get cooler on their terrace and they brought my daughters two pink blankets.
A detail. Thanks a lot!“

“The best restaurant we visited on our vacation. Very friendly staff, typical Portuguese food, great wines - we went there every day during our stay in Lagos. The food was simply fantastic! Whether fish or meat - everything is freshly prepared and of very good quality.“
“We stumbled upon this restaurant after another restaurant cancelled our reservation and we are so glad we did. Wasn’t sure if the restaurant would take us without a reservation and not staying at their resort, but they did. We sat outside with a lovely view of the ocean. Service was great and food was wonderful….everything from the “appetizer” to the fish of the day. No room for dessert. We had foolishly believed we would be warm enough without sweaters and when the sun went down and we were freezing, they found us blankets to wrap in. Could not have been better for our first meal in Portugal!“

“Loved this place! The service was great and the food was amazing. The French Martini was so well crafted and the goat cheese tapa was delicious (definitely recommend getting some bread to pair with it). It’s definitely a must try in Lagos!“

“Excellent quality food and it is cooked and served well. Modern, simple and very clean environment. Menu with medium assortment which is synonymous with product quality. Few dishes but of quality. The restaurant is high end for those seen in Lagos.“

“Lovely casual atmosphere, food well priced and good quality.
However, on the salty side, but that seems common in Portugal
Vegetarian options: Present
Parking: On a busy road, I would recommend parking above Lagos, against the city wall. The people there ask between 1 and 5 euros. Then walk to the restaurant through Lagos“

“Very well organized place. Places are limited and the turnout is always high. Upon arrival they divert you to the rooftop to drink an aperitif. When a table becomes available you can go down and eat a good variety of tapas, sandwiches (pregos) and very tasty main courses. The sangria is recommended: it doesn't follow the original recipe, but I found it to be a very successful fresh and summery version.“
“We have been to this restaurant a few times before but in the summer. It was busy noisy and the waiter was rude. This time everything was fabulous and the waiters could not have been more charming. We will certainly return but only in the winter months.“
“Absolutely fantastic tapas bar and wine shop. On the wine side - beautiful selection of mostly Portuguese wines with a few internationals thrown in, 2 prices to either drink in or take home and a good choice of chilled bottles if you’re in need of something quick. Tapas was great, would particularly recommend the stingray, even my 8 year old son loved it. Finally, brilliant knowledgeable and caring staff - i did have a corked bottle one night and they exchanged immediately. Was gutted they went on holiday for the second part of our break but luckily we stocked up!“

“Dom Vinho is a special Portuguese restaurant and one of our favorite go-to places in Lagos. This establishment has earned its place as a beloved local favorite, thanks to its blend of traditional dishes prepared in a contemporary manner, outstanding wine selection, and warm, welcoming service.
The dining experience at Dom Vinho is exceptional. The owner, António Matos, is highly acclaimed for his deep knowledge, award-winning creations and dedication to providing memorable meals. His passion for hospitality shines through in every detail, ensuring that each visit is delightful.
Behind the scenes, António’s wife works her magic as the phenomenal chef. Her culinary expertise is evident in every dish. The menu features an array of traditional Portuguese dishes, each prepared with the freshest ingredients and a creative touch. From the savory seafood, to the perfectly cooked meats, every bite is a testament to her talents.
Adding to the charm of Dom Vinho is Hiana, a remarkably engaged and skilled server who elevates the dining experience with her attentive and friendly service. Her knowledge of the menu and wine list is impressive, and her genuine warmth makes every guest feel valued.
The wine selection at Dom Vinho is also noteworthy. António’s passion for wine is reflected in a carefully curated list that features some of the best of Portugal, perfectly paired to complement the exquisite cuisine. Whether you are a local, or a visitor to Lagos, we believe Dom Vinho is a must-visit destination for anyone who appreciates a quality dining experience delivered with local Portuguese flair.“

“Had a great lunch as a family of four here! Our young one (3 1/2 years) was hangry and crying and the owner came out to cheer him up and saved the situation. Food was delicious, freshly made juices and coffee as well. I would love to come back to try their sweet pancakes but we travel home tomorrow…“

“One of the best places to eat in Viana do Castelo. Eclectic and warm decoration. Three rooms, on the ground floor and street and a dining room on the first floor. The entire menu highly recommended, especially clams and mussels. Correct portions. A fairly extensive wine list from which it is advisable to take advice. Great attention, very friendly and correct. Professionals in the best sense of the word. A place to go to eat and be in a good atmosphere. To repeat, ...several times
Kid-friendliness: Personally it is not a "kids" place, but it does have a children's menu and very edible things for children. In addition, the attention is great (we went with three children) and they are attentive to what they may need. If you bring a chair or stroller, it is better to stay downstairs or at the door. But the ideal is to go enjoy the food and wine“

“Atmospheric family establishment. An elderly couple is working. My husband speaks English and takes orders. The menu includes local cuisine, seafood and meat. The place is small, everyone sits nearby, a very cozy atmosphere. With us, visitors played the guitar and sang songs. The dishes were delicious, as were the alcoholic cocktails. The price is quite affordable“

“DELICIOUS! This was one of my favourite restaurants during our stay Lagos. We ordered a few starters to share, and each of them were really good (the octopus was incredible- a MUST. The flaming chorizo was also very good). The vibe was great, and the staff were super friendly. If I ever visit Lagos again, I’m definitely coming back to Barbosa!“

“Incredible food, both the fish (fresh) and the meat (juicy). A marvel. The atmosphere was very good and the staff were very attentive. The price was acceptable for the quantity and quality of the dishes. By the way, the dessert (fig cheese) brought back old memories of my childhood when my grandmother made such a delicacy. Congratulations“

“Fantastic restaurant/atmosphere and great guy who owns it. The steaks are absolutely amazing. Well worth having the fillet on the stone. We stayed for a week in the area and had three evening meals there, that's how good it is. Some of the negative comments here are a bit odd. Go to relax and enjoy, with a little humor. The service is as you would expect from a quality restaurant, not rushed and not slow. Cash only!“

“I took a trip to visit the Algarve (Portugal) for leisure with friends. My surprise with the places to eat was slightly disappointing as they were not overly traditional or with good and abundant food. But everything changed when we decided to look for a place to eat grilled meat.
The place looks like a garage in a town in Albacete during fairs, the place is quite small with a bar with a kitchen and the rest of the space occupied by tables.
When we arrived at the place there was no space, but they quickly welcomed us with some beers to wait at the door for a free space for 5 people.
The menu is simple, if it's not a), it's b), meat or fish, we ordered 3 meat and 2 sea bass. The rest was magic... they filled our table with ato just like a Viking wedding (see photo), but that's not the point, while we were puffing up our pellica they saw our faces of good food and they filled the table with chicha again , I didn't start crying out of shame.
To finish, they give us a delicious coffee and the bill, my surprise came when I see that it cost €12 each... I couldn't figure it out... I've seen cheap places, but this place takes first place on the street. , incredible.
Conclusion, the food is 10, both meat and fish, the treatment of the staff is impeccable, very attentive and helpful, and the place is perfect in my opinion, since it is evident that it is the typical food bar for people from the neighborhood (without massify).
100% recommended if you want to eat well and in conditions in Lagos, a complete success.“

“We loved the sardines so much that we came back in a couple of days again. Don't expect a fancy place. It's a very traditional, not touristic place with delicious grilled sardines. You pay a fixed value per person and you can eat as many sardines as you want. Salad and potatoes go as extras but it's normal.
We also liked their vinho da casa, it was fresh and complimented the sardines.“

“We booked a table for two here to enjoy the rooftop and we were not disappointed. We were able to feast on a platter of delicious regional products, and we improvised a tasting of local wines. Everyone had their own character but they were, for sure, all very good.
Be careful, however, when it is very windy, it is better to bring something to cover yourself (they have blankets available)“

“We had dinner for the end of the walk, we ate very well, excellent value for money, very quick, attentive staff, available to help you with your choice even though we didn't speak English or Portuguese. “My family and I had a great meal here at Adega Do Papagaio. It was a great experience for the kids cooking on a hot plate and I'd recommend anyone staying at Turisocampo site to make the 15min walk to the village of Espiche. The food was excellent and the service was very friendly.“
“We had a great evening there. The staff was very friendly and caring. You can watch the cooks preparing the dishes in a clean kitchen with fresh products. We had tuna with sweetpotatoe fries and vegetarian noodels in a sauce and of course some olives, bread, carrots with beetroot and so on as starters. Chocolate mousse as dessert is a must-try! The food tastes great and the price was very fair. We will definetly come back next year!“

“Great atmosphere! Typical Portuguese bar. Mainly beer from a stick, wine. We were hungry and wanted to eat something. We were informed that of course but we would have to wait. It didn't discourage us at all because it was so peaceful and atmospheric that any waiting time was worth it. All the guests were smiling and I think it's a typical local bar. The beer we ordered was huge and cold mostly. The pub is a bit out of the way but there are plenty of parking spaces around. The food was fresh and the portions were large! The portions were larger than in "expensive" restaurants. Prices are much lower than in ports and beaches. For sure, if we manage to return to Portugal, we will be happy to visit this place. The service was very nice and friendly towards tourists. Everything is a big plus.“

“This restaurant deserves all the stars in the world. The food is exceptional, a must try experience for everyone. It’s a symphony of tastes and colors, masterfully done. We had the chef’s menu and it blew us away. The staff were brilliant as well. They went above and beyond to create a memorable birthday for my partner. They brought champagne, an exquisite cake with a candle and they sang happy birthday. We got complimentary amuse bouche dishes as well. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Algarve and wants to try a superior dining experience or celebrate a special event.“
