“Visited in August 2024 for 3 times in one week of stay. This is not our first time on Pico but only this year we have discovered this quite hidden and mainly for hotel guests restaurant. And chose it over other restaurants that used to be good…
All 3 times we were not disappointed, the must try signature dish is Telha de Polvo (octopus stew served in a shape of roof cover ceramic).
It is just delicious! Fresh grilled fish is good too. For side dish, I recommend the traditional Portuguese Migas. As a bonus, location in the middle of Atlantic forest and beaches nearby are amazing too!“

“Restaurant with a very beautiful garden where you can sit and eat. There is also an employee grilling meat live there. I ordered the roast beef sandwich which was very delicious. The meat comes shredded, very well seasoned and very juicy, with mustard sauce and pickled onion. The service was a little slow but they had a full house which makes the situation understandable.
Please note that the sandwich does not come with potatoes on the side…
In general, I recommend it!“

“Even just for the fact that it has "tapas" in the name, it's the right place for me!
But the real point is the food that exceeds all expectations.

Let's start with an aperitif on the first day on the island of Pico. The place is near the house where we are staying, facing the sea, and does tapas. What more do you want?
We try several: a bulhao Pato (a sort of crostini/bruschetta with mushrooms), caprese açoriana (the same but with fresh cheese and tomatoes), a tabua açoriana (azorean cheese platter) and grilled Lapas. It doesn't disappoint!

Given the proximity, we return after two days, for our post-climb Pico meal at an unlikely time and hungry like few times in life.
We take a hamburger with beef and a bifana no Pao de albacora (translated Sandwich with tuna).
Anything but a tuna sandwich: the bifana is a typical Portuguese bread that is to die for, the tuna was practically a grilled fillet that melted in your mouth placed inside the sandwich. All accompanied by french fries which could have been slightly crispier, but you could feel that they were freshly cut and cooked.

The days were over and we couldn't go back again, but in order to stay there overlooking the sea, we found time to go for one last ice cream.

Oh bonus point for me, the coke I had at both meals was in glass. It's another thing!

I can't say we'll go back, given the 8 hour flight from home, but I can say I would go back! Yes, again! and since we are in report card period... highly promoted!“
