I liked the place, which is very well located, but the service and food were not to my taste. The employees mixed up the orders and we had to ask several times until we got what we wanted and the food, for the price, wasn't great.

Far below expectations, quality-price ratio. Simple outdoor space, the food left something to be desired, super dry chicken steak served on top of a salad and a piece of beef that was out of doneness (medium order) underneath, it was close to burning... Disappointment with the high prices charged. The only positive thing was the service, the friendliness of the employees.

The Manjar was a recommendation from the manager of our accommodation. It's actually very nice to sit outside but in a mediocre atmosphere. Our food was listlessly prepared and was pure standard. The starter was nice. Beer was available in bottles. Unfortunately the price doesn't match. The neighboring table (occupied 1 hour later) had the food arranged in a much more visually pleasing manner. It probably depends on the time.

The food is nothing special but very expensive. People work unwillingly. Prices more expensive than in Germany, never again.

The positive reviews led us to Manjar do Douro. As it was already after 2pm, we asked if it was still possible for us to have lunch, two people, and they told us yes. The space at the table is comfortable, the room has a sober but cold decor. Looking at the menu, we asked the lady who was taking the order if she recommended anything or any dish that stood out that day. He told us that everything there was very good, of great quality. We believed. Taking into account the price of the dishes, around €30 and not knowing the size of the portions, we ordered cheese, olives and Lamego ball for starters, a beer and a juice and a dose of goat. The goat was accompanied by vegetables and roast potatoes but we couldn't eat it. Hard, charred, with a strong reheated flavor. We know that oven dishes, naturally, are not made at the moment, but looking at the level of the restaurant and the price of the portions, it is unacceptable that they serve something like that. We made this known to the maid. We were not at all satisfied, neither in the comfort of our stomach nor in the attitude of those responsible, as there was not even an apology. We paid around €55.

Nice atmosphere, super friendly service but the food is mediocre, I ate entrecote which was expensive and only tasted burnt..
My wife eats a hunk of veal, exactly the same thing, it tastes like burnt and nothing else.
Expensive and mediocre.

The restaurant is nicely decorated. The wine selection is large. But the food is mediocre and rather expensive. The service is very friendly. All in all, the stay was okay, but nothing more..
