Restaurant located in the Six Senses Douro Valley hotel. Prestigious place, with a sublime atmosphere where details such as ambiance, comfort, lighting, are followed to the letter. On the 31/05th, I went to this restaurant for dinner and with the hot day, we stayed on the terrace. Adequate ambient music, an atmosphere with great class and good taste. All framed with a wonderful view over the Douro River. The cod fillet was divine, offering perfect flakes and the ideal touch of salt. I felt a soft crunch on the skin, counterbalancing the softness of the very well seasoned lupine puree. Unfortunately I don't give 5 stars for the service. In fact, the service definitely deserved 3 stars, especially for the sommelier. We ordered wine to accompany the meal and were not given any introduction, explanation of grape varieties, methods, etc. as indeed, it is the work of a professional sommelier. In general, the entire attitude of indifference towards us, the lack of empathy and sympathetic dialogue has created a glaring gap. Basically, there was a lot of superiority for little professionalism. The same lack of friendliness was felt by the only employee working that day. I close by saying that in a hotel and restaurant of this range, these foundations of good service should be natural and mandatory. In a restaurant experience with dishes with so much technique and quality of presentation and ingredients, being tarnished due to a lack of tact on the part of the wait staff is serious.

The restaurant is great, excellent food and a fantastic atmosphere. I would just like to point out that in relation to the service, certain aspects should be improved. On May 31st, I and a group of 5 friends staying at the hotel went to this restaurant for dinner, we felt hostility, especially from the sommelier, who did not have the expected attitude. At that same dinner, the only waitress's attitude was not the most friendly and/or professional.
In a 5* hotel, details like these should not need to be listed.

I liked that there are several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu, and all dishes have signs for food intolerances. Unfortunately I didn't like the dessert, the corn ice cream was too sweet and the popcorn was hard...

Every service staff is so comfortable and friendly, making us feel relaxed and happy every moment in the hotel. This is a place definitely worth visiting when you come to Portugal’s Douro River!

great views from the terrace, superb selection of vegetarian, everything was very flavorful, absolutely a must do when in the Douro valley. sit on the terrace only if u are pet friendly , hotel has its own pets and they are totally at home. we decided to move indoors through the meal. excellent service, we were very well taken care of

Six Sense hotel restaurant open to the public for dinner as long as it is booked in advance. The best thing here is permission for those who are not staying to visit the hotel. All beautiful and charming. The food is good.
