This was a fabulous surprise as a vegetarian in Portugal, I would definitely eat here again! They have a vegan chef special each night and I had a vegan bolognese in a puff pastry with a creamy spinach and mushroom sauce. I rarely finish my meal and I didn’t leave a crumb. Sooo good. My husband had a pork dish with a mushroom sauce that he ate every bite as well. Warm homemade bread with garlic butter and a tempura like squash blossom as a ‘treat from the chef’ were lovely. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert because we would have tried the cheesecake or crème brûlée. The service was friendly and attentive and an overall great experience. If they weren’t closed tonight I would be eating there! Don’t miss it!!

This was the best food we had during our entire vacation. My husband had fish served on a bed of the freshest vegetables. I had the homemade vegetable soup. This was accompanied with amazing bread served with an olive pate and oil. A complimentary cognac completed the excellent meal. We made sure our waiter complimented the chef for us after our excellent meal served by a professional, attentive wait staff. This moderately priced restaurant is highly recommended.

Nice and comfy interior. Very friendly waiter. We had a piri piri chicken and a angus steak. The chicken was good little bit to spicy bit thats taste. The Angus was perfect best grilled meat in town.

I and my partner visited this modern looking restaurant in between the top and bottom areas of Nazare. The service and food were very nice, varied menu, I had the pork and prawns and it worked vey well, would highly recommend.

Delicious meal and wonderful service! We started with cocktails, which were perfect, then enjoyed the Espetadas Yak (kabobs) and Pescada de An (Hake). So wonderful!

my cousin and I, went on holiday to portugal, and we could not fail to go and see the waves of nazare, it was a fantastic experience, to top it off, we found a restaurant, which left me an indelible memory, I was in many restaurants throughout my life, then living in Italy I have a passion for food. i can say that this is the restaurant where i have eaten the best in my whole life, i would go back to portugal just to eat there again. fresh food, impeccable service, fair prices. every dish looks like a painting , and the flavors are amazing. if you go to nazare you must go there absolutely!. I could write a thousand more words for this restaurant but they certainly wouldn't be enough, I'm just saying that I will always have beautiful memories of that place, I want to thank you so much, I wish you the best, keep it up, you are the best.
Fantastic food and 10/10 service. Would recommend to anyone. So welcoming and kind atmosphere and the food was amazing together with really good local wine. Best meat I had for a long time. Big compliments to the chef and the waiter serving us.

A Fornalha does not disappoint for steaklovers! Located in Nazaré, the ambience is lovely, the service is top, and the food delicious. We came here for dinner and were guided through the meat selections by very knowledgeable and friendly staff. We ordered the dry aged New York strip (or similar) for two. The aging takes place in Portugal, and staff will tell you the weight as there are different cuts available. We were served a tasty amuse bouche at the start, followed by our perfectly prepared and well presented (see photos!) steak. My only regret was not ordering a larger cut! Sweet potato fries added a lovely flavor to the course. We opted for two chocolate desserts and they were amazing. Wonderful experience with top-notch service. This is a must visit during a stay in Nazaré.

I do not write many reviews but after the experience we had at this restaurant I feel obliged. We were greeted and warmly welcomed by Emanuel who guided us through the menu and chef's specials. The service aswell as the food were exceptional and a change from other restaurants that seem to share the same variation of food. We would definitely return.
