With the aim of visiting an iconic restaurant in Leiria (at least in name) and delighting ourselves with the supposed gastronomic promises, I went there last Saturday. Group of 4 people, table reservation made in good time and full of expectations!
Disappointing, it's the name I could give to a restaurant, which charges 50 euros per person to serve us, be surprised Sal!
We ordered two starters, a bottle of wine, a chuleton and a half of Arouquesa beef (which had everything to be good) if the chef hadn't made a mistake with the amount of salt, both in the meat and in the potatoes that accompanied the meat! The orange and red onion salad saved us! (Sweet) I complained during the meal, I was asked if I wanted something else, that sometimes the chef adds too much salt, that we weren't the first to complain. I said no... If you hadn't opened another bag of salt!
Furthermore, we spent a good 5 minutes holding our hands in the air trying to get someone to come to our table so we could reheat the plate! Such a situation is unacceptable for the price they charge! Without coffee, without dessert we left completely irritated, and without 200 euros!
I would say that they are sleeping on the fame they created! (A shame)
An experience not to be repeated! A hearty no if anyone asks me!
PERFECT ! from starter to dessert, flavors, fresh seasonal products! Came several times, never disappointed! The quality is there! Always a pleasure to come.Wide choice of French wine. Thanks to the chef (Nuno) and the waiter (Gabriel) who are always attentive.See you soon !

Title: A Disappointing Experience: The Restaurant That Left Much to DesireVisiting a restaurant is more than simply tasting good food; it's about the complete experience, from the environment to the service provided. Unfortunately, my recent visit to the Puttanesca restaurant left a lot to be desired, mainly due to one significant flaw: the poor reservation booking.Upon arriving at the restaurant on the night in question, I was surprised to discover that my reservation had not been recorded correctly. The staff appeared unprepared and unable to deal with the situation effectively.

Nuno surprises us each time we come. This place has the most extend wine-list in the region, impressive international wine, with some extraordinary ones for a fair price. Meat is aged at location and everything is served with love and attention todetail.

The service does not match the price or quality of food that is claimed to be. The price is similar to the roof top Canary Wharf but, the service and quality is far from it. The food is not the worst that I’ve had in Leiria but the price is not justifiable, besides there is no option for Portuguese wine. There are othe good restaurants with similar or cheaper prices which have good food and way better service e.g., Joao Gordo, Carloto, o Curral etc..
Always very good, I recommend it ??

We went there during the, for dinner, without a previous reservations. There were a few tables empty. We did not have to wait and were promptly seated. The staff was kind and able to recommend some dishes. There are a few special dishes recommended by the chef.We ordered bread and “morcela”. The morcela was amazing- crispy on the outside and served with jam (i think?) which contrasted beautifully .We went all in and ordered chuleton (only available for 2). It is expensive but quite well worth it- medium/rare and really soft meat. It comes with a side dish of orange, which I enjoyed. We also ordered a side dish of French fries with truffle and cheese- the fries were good but it did not have that much cheese and lacked the truffle flavor. To drink we ordered 2 glasses of Italian wine (4-5 euros each). The place is really nice and chic. It has mainly meat based dishes. It also offers a huge wine selection, available to buy separately to take home.Overall we enjoyed our meal but it is quite expensive. What we were disappointed with was the fact that it took a long time for the starters to come, and around an hour for the main dish.
