Tasca do Lis is a wonderfully friendly and quiet restaurant in central Lisbon. The staff is enthusiastic and provides fantastic service. The food is the highlight, with dishes such as pate, garlic shrimp, mushroom/asparagus risotto, roast pork (called "piglet"), bacalhao, and fried shrimp in a lemon sauce. Other recommended dishes include arroz de polvo, bacalhao a lis, and polvo a lagareiro. Desserts like crème brûlée, mousse, and lemon tart are also terrific. The restaurant offers a great value for the price, with a meal and a bottle of wine being inexpensive. Note that portions may be smaller than expected, so consider ordering a starter before the main dish.
