4 of us arrive thinking we have a reservation at this restaurant (we went to the wrong restaurant) the waiter does not warn us that he does not have a reservation for us which is very dishonest on their part and takes us to a table which was therefore not intended for us. During the meal, the fado who was present throughout, we were told to be quiet because we were disturbing the other customers. Arriving at the end of the meal, we were told that we could not pay by card (130€) and that we had to get cash from the ATM. And finally we had to top it up because they had no change (strange for a restaurant that only accepts cash). 1 star for the sangria which allowed us to endure and try to forget this moment.

We were here late one night, and we had a great time with the fado music with great food.
We arrived past 10 pm on a Monday night, so we expected that there's not going to be a crowd. Our hotel is nearby and we always notice this place is packed at night but it turned out we were the only group there that time We were worried that there won't be any fado anymore since there'sonly us, but the live fado still did a set and felt like a private show for us. We enjoyed every song they did.
We ordered the tomahawk and the octopus dishes. The tomahawk was cooked medium rare, although we were not asked - not sure if this is normal since it was our first and the only order of steak during our trip. It came with breaded calamari and shrimps, which were all grilled/fried perfectly and tasted great. The octopus was cooked tender, not chewy, with the full flavor of the grill and spices. Since it's already really late, we skipped on the potatoes and fries but later found them to be too salty.
The staff are very friendly and attentive but of course, maybe bec there was only us in there at the time.
Quick note - they take cash only.
Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a fado restaurant that won't break the bank. They may not be the best fado, but we still got our fill of it.

Restaurant in the heart of Alfama, Lisbon. A place with an amazing atmosphere. We came across a fado performance. Atmospheric music, good food - it would seem that nothing more is needed. But: - we were brought appetizers which we did not order. We treated them as an "appetizer" popular in many countries. We were very surprised to see them on the bill - we were charged €14 for fado performances, which no one informed us about - we couldn't pay by card, which meant searching for and running to an ATM. As for the food, it was very good. We ordered the "cauldron" with rice and seafood for two people - Arroz de Marisco. A dish reminiscent of Spanish paella. Very good, full of various seafood. Despite very good food and a great atmosphere, we felt very stretched.
