Fantastic restaurant and a perfect place for some authentic portuguese food.
We asked the waitress what’s the best fish, she said she don’t like fish. How can you not like fish when the fish is cooked to perfection at this place? The squid was swimming in the portuguese sea which is not The Atlantic Ocean but olive oil and garlic. Tasted perfect.
If you forgot your tie just steal one from here. Don’t tell them I told you.

We went to Adega das Gravatas for lunch because it was a famous restaurant and we were quite disappointed. We ordered piano and picanha and were amazed at how quickly it was served. When we started to serve ourselves we noticed that instead of serving piano we were served strips of veal and the picanha wasn't really picanha, besides being burnt. We questioned the waitress who apologized and we decided to keep the veal strips and send the "picanha" back, as it was completely burnt and they were trying to sell us steaks for picanha. When we started eating we noticed that the food was not hot. We find it strange how food that has just come off the grill is not hot. When they brought us the second picanha, it had nothing to do with the first "picanha" they served us. It was very good and it was real picanha. Basically they served us food that we didn't order and that wasn't even hot. They "mistakenly" served us dishes that were cheaper than the ones we ordered and would charge us for more expensive dishes, as in the case of serving us febras and saying it was picanha. I'm not going back and I warn you not to be fooled. Bad service.

Excellent service, Quality food, Great prices. I recommend: Lagareiro-style octopus, monkfish rice, picanha, sea bream. Dessert: Rice pudding, sericaia, biscuit cake and Abade Priscos pudding.
After years and years as a reference and high quality restaurant, it is now simply a place for ordinary meals. Anyone who has visited Adega das Gravatas in the past is better off not returning to avoid major disappointment ?

I went with the indication that the food was in quantity and quality and I didn't find the quality.....pianinhos with fries and migas. The worst migas I've ever tasted (dry, with beans and greens....I've never seen the same) liani hos, they were tasty, but they were dry and almost without meat. Helpful and fast service, but they also have a lot of people to serve. The atmosphere is funny (thousands of ties hanging from the ceiling) and pleasant. Maybe I'll give it a second chance and try other things, but as a first experience, it didn't meet my expectations.
