The food is Ok but nothing exceptional.
We mostly went there to have the Fado experience and it was just perfect.
The singers were professional with magical voice.
If you want to have real Fado experience I recommend this place.
It's a bit pricier than other restaurants in Lisbon; you practically are paying for the performances and it's fair.

We were fortunate to find a restaurant
called Casa de Linhares in Lisbon. The ambiance was welcoming, warm and friendly. The food was delicious and served in a timely but not rushed manner. We dined while listening to live music of a guitar and mandolin accompanying the Fado singers. Casa de Linhares experience was a highlight of our visit to Lisbon. We are back in the US now but the Fado still lives in me. The food, the people, beautiful !

Although we ate two main courses and two appetaizer for two people, there was a lot of pressure for more. We could not eat comfortably.

Very nice evening, no false note: the place, the welcome, the cuisine, the service, the musicians, the singers, everything delighted us! Choosing Casa de Linhares to discover or listen to fado is the guarantee of a wonderful evening. We recommend without hesitation.

Fantastic atmosphere, service, and food. The staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive, and the singers were WOW. The only thing we did not love was the Presunto (ham). For the price, I was expecting it to be at least hand-cut. If you are there, definitely get the seafood rice, I have had it twice and it does not disappoint.

Absolutely incredible atmosphere and experience. I didn’t want to leave. We went as part of our Kensington tours itinerary and didn’t have to worry about paying any bill as it was all included. We got plenty of wine, an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The menu is labeled with allergens and I am gluten and dairy free and was able to find something to eat here. The musicians have great talent. The whole experience will transport you to another time, as if you are in a dream.

I went with my family, I didn't like that they charge you 60 euros to listen to fado, on the other hand they don't have cocktails, but most importantly the fado delivers, but in fact the owner sings very well, she is the best in the place, but I prefer a thousand times the fado club.

Echoing other 1 star reviews: DO NOT GO.

After doing some research on fado in Lisbon with a Portuguese friend for a bridal shower, we've decided to pick this place. Sadly, this place completely ruined the bridal shower. English tourists beware: they will push a 70 euro bottle of wine on you, claiming the 35 euro option (which is steep considering European standards) is "not good." Why is it on the menu then?

My friend's steak was first undercooked, then overcooked, and no one checked in to see if the food was okay.

I've traveled across Europe and never encountered staff using "lack of English proficiency" as an excuse to steal tips. Interestingly, they spoke perfect English when recommending overpriced wine.

Absolutely unacceptable.

The Fado is great, but it’s not worth the stress and the feeling of being scammed, so maybe go elsewhere.

That was our first time in Lisbon and first time we listened to Fado. Truly amazing experience, atmosphere and service. We listened to 4 different singers, everyone with his own style and performance. Great selection of wines, excellent food and of course the staff! Many many thanks to Elsa for her kind hospitality and sweet surprise to our wedding anniversary :)

Fado was a very nice experience. Food was extremely subpar and is overpriced. We had to ask for the menu and bill several times, as well as remind them of forgotten items in our menu. When we asked for wine recommendations, the server only recommended the most expensive choices (€60+), and claimed all of the lower priced (~€40) are “not good” (the , offer it?). At the end of the meal, server tried to keep more tip than offered, gaslit us that we made the error, and weaponized his lack of English proficiency to claim a miscommunication occurred (despite being perfectly proficient to recommend €80 wine). Overall very stressful experience with service and food, but fado was exceptional!

Excellent experience, food and service of high standards. The atmosphere and the mystique of the space are reminiscent of a temple.
The music was excellent and fado at its best. If you want to live the best fado experience I recommend it

Food is ok. Wine is over priced and not good. Service is subpar. The Fado performers were nice.

It was weird to sit in silence for an hour or more until the performers began.
