The fado was beautiful and really made our last night in Lisbon special. Despite a small communication/language problem, the propietier went above and beyond for us to address the issue.
Would highly recommend this place for the real authentic Portuguese experience. The atmosphere felt like everyone knew everyone and it was a regular way for the neighborhood to spend a Friday night. The food is simple and soulful - we had the mixed grill and the grilled seabass. Everything was seasoned well.
Please note this is a cash only establishment and they do not have a card machine. It is also a small restaurant that can be a bit hectic, but that's part of the charm.

The menu available during the week (Monday to Friday) has a variety of options and includes soup, dish of the day, drink and dessert. The price varies from €9 to €11 (for charcoal specialties). These menus are only available for lunch on weekdays (other than holidays).Today I chose:Bean soup;dish of the day - Roe à Lagareiro;Drink - pineapple juice;Dessert - peanut pie.I also ordered a coffee at the end, which added up to €12 in total. The dish was well served and was delicious.Tip:1) the dishes take a while to be served. Therefore, I suggest a visit with time to enjoy the place and the food.2) I suggest calling the restaurant to find out availability if you are a large group.

Fantastic experience in this corner of Lisbon. Nelson the owner is fantastic and sings fado wonderfully, he delighted us with some songs with the fado group. Very good food and generous quantities. I went with a group and no detail was lacking. Super recommended.. thanks Nelson! See you in another!!

Yesterday, March 28, we arrived at the restaurant and it was closed, after having called to make a reservation in advance. A total lack of seriousness, making you go there to waste your time. They should take care of these things because it is quite annoying, especially with the day it was, raining heavily.
On the first day we arrived in Lisbon (03/01/2024) (my mother, my sister and I) went to a typical Portuguese restaurant.And I must say that it was one of the best evenings I spent during my stay.Super good and generous foodTypical Fado music with simply brilliant musicians and singers, even one of the employees who welcomed us sang.Honestly, there's nothing to say, it was incredible, thank you very much!(Sorry for the bad Portuguese, I'm using a translator because I don't speak a word)
