An absolutely expectional restaurant in the heart of Lisbon - the service from Clau was impeccable and the ambience was delightful. The food was the real showstopper though! went for the Crab paste to start (which for anyone who likes crab is a must!) and the Tuna Tataki was one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. Will be sure to return on my next trip to Lisbon!

The Octopus "à Lagareiro" as the main course is amazing. The skin is crispy and the inside is well cooked juicy and tender with light seasoning flavour in extra virgin Oliver oil. The best dish of all. I usually don’t like octopus in other restaurants as it is easy to be overcooked. But I like how this restaurant cooked it. The most impressive one. The Octopus salad and Octopus Croquettes are good too. The cod fish is good just a bit salty due to how it was treated but the dish is well cooked. They definitely know how to cook octopus.
Kid-friendliness: There are kid meals and saw kids in the restaurant and enjoyed them selves
With great expectations, I arrived when the restaurant opened, at 6:30 pm, to celebrate my birthday with my wife and daughter, and even though the house was completely empty (only one couple in the room) they didn't want to serve us because they didn't have a reservation.
The attendant opened the door of the establishment, didn't let us in, asked if there was a reservation, said no and that we would be quick because we would have a flight soon. She closed the door in our face, went in for about 5 minutes, and when she returned she said that they really wouldn't serve us because the house was 'full'.
When trying to argue that it was still the restaurant's opening time, that we would be quick, and there was practically no customer, the only response we got before having the door closed in front of us again was 'sorry'.
As the photos show, it was still super early, the door was closed and there was only one couple inside.
The expectation of knowing and tasting the menu was replaced by great frustration in terms of service and empathy.
