Absolutely lovely authentic Portuguese food. We had the oxtail, the turbot, and the mushroom rice. Also the starters were amazing including the dried Tuna salad and the squid. Super attentive service by Alex, they were fully booked but then accommodated us. Highly recommended and cannot wait to go again

I went with the family and was really excited having in mind all the reviews. Service is excellent and the staff is really friendly and nice. We ve ordered several different dishes to share and food was ok, but nothing memorable. Expensive for what it offers. The chocolate mousse and octopus rice were my favorite dishes.

It was a really good restaurant with an incredible selection of comfortable authentic Portuguese cuisine! Alex our server was really nice and he really explained every meal to us and made this diner even more authentic and more better! Definitely recommend!

We are very disappointed with our visit. This is mainly due to the quality of service. We were initially poorly received upon our arrival. My wife, who was suffering from the heat outside, asked to wait inside because it was cool, but she was refused. After an unjustified long wait we asked about the dishes. The responses were vague and above all there was an uneasiness with the feeling of being embarrassed with each question. My wife requested a change of filling, she was refused. We had tuna salads. A priori the tuna is the theme of the salad but as it was cut in very thin slices and in tiny quantities we did not feel the taste of the tuna hidden by the sauce. For the squid it was bathed in oil especially there was a ton of garlic that you will keep with you all day. My wife got sick from it when she left the restaurant. My lamb with rice dish was good but much too rich and above all again too fatty. In short, we totally missed out on a good time. It’s a shame because the place itself is made for conviviality. The staff really gives the impression of not liking their job, or the customers, or the tourists, as you wish, and it shows too much. I don't understand why this place is still recommended by Michelin.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND! 1. The salads had too much vinegar inside. 2. The lamb was too dry. 3. Children (5) who were sitting at the next table received the second dish 1.5 hours after ordering! We arrived 15 minutes before the restaurant opened (19-00). All the tables were already set, we were offered to sit at the table only at 19-00. We stood in the heat for all these 15 minutes with the children.

This restaurant cost me much more than what I ordered for. There are many hidden fees. At the time of payment, I was charged for some clams other than the ones I ordered, and they cost four times more. When paying, a 10% tip was automatically added, something I have never seen the likes of here in Portugal. We were also charged a fee to use the table itself. Last of all, food was presented as if it was included, but then the customers are tricked into touching it so that the restaurant can charge for it, but this is very normal for Lisbon.
The waiter was constantly trying to get us to buy more food, dessert and side dishes. It was extremely embarrassing and unprofessional. Overall it seemed like the restaurant was trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of the customers.
The food was decent enough for the price, but the duck tasted very little of duck. The mussels were very good but cost €22 instead of €4.50. Please choose another location. Equally good food (and even better) can very easily be found elsewhere in the city.

Absolutely garbage. Service was terrible, food was mediocre at best and took FOREVER. We were denied the chance to even see the dessert menu because we arrived roughly 10-15 minutes late. I don’t know how they received a Michelin guide recommendation but it’s far from the quality anyone would expect. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place.

Awful experience, we were slightly late (10 mins) having gone to the wrong version of this. Entre took forever to come and was badly cooked - too much salt on duck rice. Then waitstaff blamed us for the delay and told us we had to leave and skip desert as the table was booked by a later party. Bad food bad service.

We went to O Frade which is in the Lisbon Market. We felt cheated, without warning or giving the option to say that they did not charge us almost ten euros of "tip" which is honestly abusive. We paid for it because it was our last night in Lisbon and we didn't want to leave with a bad experience for arguing over ten euros. DO NOT GO, the food is pretty good but I recommend any restaurant in the area as they are great and we always feel well treated.

On our trip to Portugal, we have visited Cascais, Sintra, Óbidos, Aveiro, Porto, Algarve, & Lisbon. Food wise we had some misses & hits. O Frade was definitely hit!! The food was delectable! As starters we had the razor clams, squids, rabbit, tuna steaks, & Frade’s special pie. As main we had the lamb with crispy rice. They were all delicious! Service was wonderful. Both Leonardo & Diogo were very helpful, welcoming and professional. We had such a wonderful experience at O Frade’s & would highly recommend this restaurant!
