We were pleasantly surprised to find a Guinean family running a restaurant at the foot of the Serra de Montejunto. Typical Portuguese gastronomy and a touch of Africa here and there on the menu. We ended up trying Catchupa. We left the dish clean. Two hours of conversation with you gentlemen and a well-cooked meal.

Exceptional food, delicious. Homemade and fresh. Good wine. The only problem is that you can't go in a hurry. It is a family business and patience is needed.Recommended only if you have enough time.

My wife and I ate here every night for 9 evenings (they are closed on Tuesday) and we thoroughly enjoyed the good food and excellent service. The present owners are Carlos and his wife Carla, who is the chef. Originally from Guinea Bissau, they lived for many years in Lisbon and in Groningen, Netherlands. They speak good English and Dutch. The atmosphere is friendly and warm in a dining room that is full of character
Parking: Along a wide section of an otherwise narrow street

Sinds kort super vriendelijke nieuwe eigenaars. We kregen een aangepaste vegetarische maaltijd ?
Er werd speciaal vegetarische pasta gemaakt, zeer lekker.
A calm meal, very well prepared and seasoned with "a touch of African magic, in a restaurant run by a young couple from Guinea Bissau.Very good.Repeating?

Excellent food and friendly staff My wife and I have eaten here for the past three nights. The new owners are a couple from Guinea Bissau, Carlos and Carla, who have previously lived and worked in Lisbon and in Holland. They speak good English. The menu is good and varied and reasonably priced. Service is excellent. We will also eat there again tomorrow evening when Carla, who is chef, has promised a special fare based on foods from their native African country of origin. Can’t wait!

Great food, the fish was delicious and they made some amazing vegetarian pasta, eventhough it wasn't on the menu. The staff was very lovely and helpful and even organized a taxi for us on a holiday in the late evening. Prices are cheap and the atmosphere is great. Thank you so much!
