Restaurant in the lower part of the Alfama neighborhood. Small but charming. Good fish, although we have tried better in Lisbon in similar restaurants. We did not make a reservation and had to wait 50 minutes. Very friendly waiters. Card payment is not allowed. Recommendable.

Very good food. But I have to say that they did not warn us that you could not pay by card until the moment of payment. They didn't let us do Bizum, they forced us to go to an ATM. Honestly, I think that if they don't want to charge by card, they should let us know when they arrive or put up a sign.

Basically, you need to be there at 7:30 p.m. or else you don't get a table right away. Tourists and locals seem to love this place, so did we. We went there 3 times in our one week vacation here. The waiter is very nice, but seems to be a little bit overwhelmed sometimes. The food is very good, especially the fish. 10€ for a litre of sangria and 15€ for a mixed fish plate is a real bargain. The sangria is fruity and delicious as well.
We would recommend going here for typical Portuguese food for a small price!

The site is spectacular. Typical food, they change the menu every day, the waiter speaks Spanish perfectly ?? and the portions are very good, in addition to their size.

With a portion of beef stew and a green wine, in addition to the appetizers of cheese, bread and olives, we had dinner and it was good for €36 for two people.

A success.

A fantastic meal, with a good price, but very slow service.
We spent half an hour waiting to be assigned a table (despite there being free tables) and almost an hour and a half for dinner.
We had chorizo (it wasn't on the menu, they charged us €6), pork chop and beef steak. The meat was incredibly good, grilled and very tasty. It came with fries and a little salad.
To drink, I recommend the house wine, which is served in a 0.5 or 1l jug.
I can't comment on the desserts because we ended up full, but they seemed homemade and very good.

Homemade and traditional food, although a little basic, they don't take care of the details. The place is a traditional tavern, with a bit slow service. You CANNOT pay by card.

Everything was super delicious and fresh. Staff can speak English and they accept only cash. I will come back again for sure!

Very good restaurant, with rather low prices, friendly staff. The place is normal, but in a good location. There are some stairs to get there.

They were really rude and they made us feel uncomfortable, also their internet menu and their actual menu is different and when we asked about it, they just kept saying we don’t know.

We looked at the recommendations and decided to go eat. Food with the same flavor: garlic. Also, you can only pay with cash. There is no previous sign where this condition can be seen. Not recommended.

A local recommended this place and it always has a line so we had very high hopes but were disappointed by our experience. Some of the classic Portuguese dishes we expected to see were not on the menu, the kitchen leaned heavily towards grilled dishes.
The grilled mackerel came with boiled potatoes and my dinner partner had the codfish cooked in the house style with fried potatoes.
The portions were generous but the prices were normal for an area popular with visitors. The food was fine but was not anything particularly special and the flavoring was blander than we have eaten at other authentic Lisboa restaurants. The servers were distracted but pleasant. They take only cash but do not have signs out so us and several other tables had to go seek out the ATM--- a cash only sign would have been helpful. They did not have the two of the desserts we wanted to order so we went elsewhere for dessert.

If you can get in the first seating and or can be seated within 20-30 minutes this restaurant is nice to try but the food does not merit the hour(or more) long wait at peak dinner time. Overall, we walked away a little disappointed. Would not recommend waiting in the very long line of primarily visitors to Lisboa that quickly grew, we recommend arriving right at 7:30/19:30.

The atmosphere felt very authentic, it is in the heart of Alfama, staff were nice and it is always good to support a family run business.
