Uniquely designed restaurant in Lisbon. Lots of photo opportunities and the ambience matches the food and service which were all exceptional. Food is on the more pricey side but worth it for the experience.

The two ladies at reception here were awful and so rude! We left immediately and didn’t stay to eat or drink - worst experience of Portugal we do not recommend this place at all. Ruined such a lovely day, we were happy walking all day enjoying the scenery and the experience of this place ruined a beautiful day and experience of Portugal for us. Can’t understand how they can be so arrogant there, we would have spent a lot of money but they missed out and I certainly wouldn’t ever recommend this place to anyone unless you want your day to be ruined!

The first time I visited the place and I had high expectations of what they were talking about. Starting with the service, whoever served our table clearly saw that they didn't know what they were doing. We ordered a cocktail and they said it wasn't possible, we asked again when one of the people at the table had to get up and go to the bar and the answer was "then go there". When the bartender said of course it is possible. Besides that, there were other details, and the food was nothing special. Pre-fried potatoes for sure, one of the dishes had clearly been forgotten when you noticed it, it was made in a hurry and the dough had no flavor. Not a single regret for the delay, while the rest of the table was already halfway through their dishes. One piece of advice, pay attention when serving water, because they serve water to the table without asking if we want it or not, and at the end of the night we had about 5 bottles of water charged to the bill (which are not cheap). Very expensive and poor service for what a restaurant it is. There was nothing like the expected environment.

Excellent evening ? We just had a wonderful evening served by Thais. The food was up to expectations (oysters as starters followed by picanha, burger and tartare.) As a cocktail do try the margaritas ? Going on a weekday makes your experience very different from Fridays/Saturdays where 2 services are organised per night with a more rushed service.

I’m providing a review, even though I cannot comment on the food or the actual meal service. Our family of eight people had made a reservation from the US a few weeks before our vacation. The restaurant is in a beautiful location, rather out of the way, not walkable to anything. We found out upon arrival that a very strict no sandals policy for men was going to be enforced, even though all the women in the group were wearing sandals. Apparently information about this draconian policy was emailed to my husband who made the reservation, but this was missed prior to our starting vacation. We were frankly appalled that they would not make an exception and allow us to dine there, even with four grandparents!! There was no need for a jacket, so it’s not a formality issue, and two men who arrived after us in sneakers were allowed in. They would not budge on policy. Therefore, therefore we were stuck on a Saturday night looking for a table for eight people in Lisbon, you can imagine the rest.
Recommended dishes: Ceviche de Garoupa Batata Doce Molho Tiradito

Ambiance with impeccable decor and great choice of music. Super lively and with a positive vibe. Exceptional table service, throughout the dinner the server was friendly and polite. The meat arrived at the right time and was extremely tender. Simply wonderful.

Very frustrating service, assistant Marisa demonstrated incapacity and poor training in service. Rude in words without creating empathy for the customer. Trying to boast about the number of customers the restaurant has. I think people forget that restaurants can have a very short time of glory, just because of the service. No matter how good the table service is, if the reception doesn't contribute, customers simply stop showing up. At “Zé Manel” tavern you would be much better served. I definitely don't recommend it.

The space is beautiful. Considering the price you pay, you would expect better food preparation. Beautiful cocktails are only beautiful, because there is no flavor. The service was too basic and slow. Paying a €15 birthday cake fee is ridiculous.

Booked months in advance, paid £300 deposit. 11 of us turned up on the night for a special occasion and were refused entry due to one of the party wearing black flip flops with her dress. They did not care when we explained this was due to an injury and in fact her shoes looked no different to the sandals others were wearing. People were coming and going from the restaurant in jeans and trainers whilst we were all dressed up so they’d clearly decided when they saw us walking up to the restaurant that we weren’t good enough for them. Worst of all, despite no specification in their dress code about this type of footwear they have REFUSED to give us a refund. Absolute joke of a place, you only have to look at the reviews on Tripadvisor to know this is not a place worth visiting
