I regret to write this review following a thoroughly disappointing experience at Alqueire. Our group of 12 had reserved a round table on the second floor for Monday evening. We communicated in advance that we would play some background music and engage in games during our stay, and were assured there would be no issue.However, the evening was marred by several problems. Communication was the first major hurdle, as our waiter struggled with both English and Portuguese. Instead of seeking clarification when he didn’t understand our requests, he simply nodded and walked away, which resulted in many incorrect or forgotten orders.Though the second floor was partially occupied by our group, and there was no one else around, the level of service did not improve. By 10 PM, the first floor was empty, and at about 10:30 PM, the same waiter abruptly told us the restaurant was closing due to supposed “lack of patrons,” which begged the question “then, who are we?! Are we not patrons??” Astonishingly, he also claimed that neighbors had complained about our music being too loud, which was simply untrue. Our speaker is not capable of very high volumes, and we were mindful of keeping the noise level respectful. Moreover, it was still well before Lisbon's quiet hours which begin at 11 PM.This premature and unfounded eviction from the restaurant was not only rude but also unprofessional, lacking any reasonable explanation. Given our experience, I cannot recommend Alqueire if you are looking for a place that respects and values its customers. The handling of our visit was unacceptable, and it appears the establishment prioritizes convenience over customer satisfaction.

IMMENSELY slow service. We got a table on the top floor and it was really bad. We went downstairs to place our orders several times because no one came to serve us. We asked for more bread at the beginning of the meal to eat with the cheese and chorizo starter and it came after the main dishes were served. The food is good, that's a fact. But for the price paid, the service is terrible.
