Wonderful little spot not far from the tile museum. Mostly vegetarian food, in a Portuguese style. I had the Alheira with a vegetarian sausage and it was very tasty. My wife enjoyed her carrot soup.

Don't be fooled by foreigners! It's an excellent vegan restaurant! It is eaten very well and with traditional dishes, with the meat replaced by soya. Recommended for those who want to visit the nearby azulejos museum. But also for those who simply want to eat well and spend the right amount, in a home-like atmosphere. Family-run restaurant (three generations)

Came out of the tile museum and were looking for a place for lunch. What a find! At first wasn’t sure if it was open.. but went through to the out door seating in the courtyard. Fantastic food… owner and a cook do a few items for the day and when it’s gone, they close. Missed getting the quiche.. but had delicious vegetable lasagna. Both meat and vegetable options. Highly recommend. Owner was very friendly. Highly recommend!
We had been to the tile museum and were looking for an off the beaten path place for lunch. Is is an unassuming cafe, but what a wonderful find for lunch. The menu here changes daily because it is based on what is in the market. They cook what they feel will be enough for the day's lunch. Once the food for that days lunch sells out, they close. So the food is fresh and delicious. We ordered 3 different items grilled chicken w/ fries, vegetable oven bake w/rice and salad and a vegetable lasagna with salad. Everything was delicious. There is dining inside or in a patio area towards the back. The proprietor was lovely.
