An old-style tavern, waiters dressed in keeping with the place.
We ordered the chorizo and lamb with two glasses of wine. If we return, we will repeat.

We made our reservation a week in advance and when we arrived, we were seated at a table in the heat. We started to ask but they no longer had most of the things. When we started to complain and said that we had made the reservation a week ago, they immediately found us a table in a cooler area. Anyway... we decided to leave and go have lunch somewhere else.

Parking: There is parking near the court and bus station.

First time we came everything was great, waitresses were very friendly and kind, and let us sat at the big table for 6 people (there was only 2 of us) since the place was completely empty.
So we decided to come back and the next time we took a table for 4 since we had our luggage with us and needed more space, place was empty again. Waitress approached us and asked how many of us will be there as if she didn’t se that it was just the two of us ? so we said 2 and then she said we have to go for a small table for two in a dark corner as they have to manage the space for the evening. Again, place was empty so I don’t believe two extra seats occupied for a lunch at 5pm would damage their restaurant. Bad customer service from that particular person . Otherwise the place is very nice and original.

The first time we visited the place it was really interesting. The atmosphere was nice and we sat behind a bigger table as we were the only guests. Even though we only had a few drinks and no food, it wasn’t an issue to be sitting there. Since we weren’t particularly hungry, we said we will come back some other day to try some food on the menu. We arrived and sat at the table for 4 (there was two of us) and expected not to be moved, as the restaurant was almost empty (again), with two people finishing the meal. However, we were unpleasantly surprised when the waitress asked us to move to a table in the dark corner, because it was only two of us. We left the place disappointed we couldn’t pick where to sit in an empty restaurant. It’s saddening to turn a happy experience into a bitter one.

My boyfriend and I went to lunch. The decoration transports you to the Middle Ages, what's more, the waitresses are dressed according to the era, and they perfectly recommended the quantities to us. We ordered chorizo, which came with bread and knuckle with chestnuts and potatoes. Both dishes were exquisite.
We paid €36 for the two dishes and two drinks, which seemed cheap for the amount we ate.

It's always a little gamble to enter an empty restaurant. We arrived around 12 and we were the only guests.

Nice medieval theme. Friendly service.

The steak was really tender. The beef "schnitzel" was a little too dry for our taste.

My wife's duck was juicy and full of orange flavor.

Big portions. "Ok" pricing.

Ensure that you visit whilst you are in Lisbon.

Every element of this restaurant was perfect. From the design of the menu, to the decor and the food and drink itself - exceptional.

We were hosted and served by Mariana who was phenomenal the entire evening. She was knowledgable, perfect with timing and made great suggestions.

We tried a whole range of the menu between 2 of us.

We started by viewing the cart which they try to route the options of regularly. I cannot recall the names, but we tried 3 dishes. One contained Octopus, one Veal and the other was Partridge. All 3 were incredibly tasty, but the cold Veal dish was definitely a stand-out option.

There are 3 meads available in 2 different sized offerings. Ensure that you opt for the larger of the 2 as for the ~1 euro difference in cost you appear to get significantly more. All 3 were faultless with their own undertones traits. There is a neutral, a sweet and a much heavier hitting. I would recommend trying all 3, with the sweeter of the 3 being my personal favourite. At 5 euros each, it is a must.

Our mains were exquisite. I opted for their house steak and French fries. The meat was beyond delectable, cooked as requested (medium rare) and the fries tasted like deep fried potato wedges, without the over zealous artificial oily finish. They were a real surprise and again, a must try whilst visiting.

We tried their poster Flaming Sausage, which we chose to have the experience of cooking ourselves and wow. We didn’t really know what we were doing, regardless, it was easily the best sausage I have ever tasted. It was accompanied by bread too, so that is worth noting - of course it was great bread too (2 different variants).

Finally, we finished with their Chocolate Mousse which would typically come with a sprinkle of nuts on top, but they were very considerate of my nut allergy throughout the entire evening and it was prepared without. Needless to say, fantastic.

Our entire meal was enjoyed with a live band playing many old Irish songs that perfectly captured the old medieval tavern feel, reminiscent of what you would hear in the Witcher series for example and games.

Do not hesitate to visit this unforgettable spot.

A creative place, it transports you to that medieval era with soft lighting, clay dishes and the waiters wear costumes from that era.

The food is delicious and with good portions.

It really felt like we were in a medieval inn (furniture, clothes, silverware, celtic folk music). The service was incredibly friendly and anticipated our needs, in spite of us sharing our orders. The lamb and chestnut were amazing, even the fries were good (as a Belgian I'm proud of our country's fries), and they have a great small selection of some of my favorite Belgian beers.
Can't compare to other medieval inns, but to us an absolute restaurant-highlight!
