We go here for lunch almost once a week. The food is traditional Portuguese and very tasty. I always end up ordering the Porco de amêijoas (pork with clams) it’s delicious. And you have to try the desserts. My favourite is Arroz doce but they are all worth a try and homemade. Anna and her son, Carlos, speaks English so no language barrier.

We were 4 people, all absolutely satisfied. For me, the best meal in Portugal so far (and we always chose a rating of at least 4.6*). Friendly and kind service, pleasant atmosphere. The portion is large, the mushroom sauce pleasantly surprised me. Yum!
The Afonso III is located just a 5 minute stroll from the centre, in a quiet square directly opposite the Loulé Jardim Hotel.It has both indoor and outside dining areas and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate here twice during our stay and each time the food was excellent.We had Mackerel with Tomato Rice, green salad, Turkey and Mushrooms in a cream sauce and the Cuttlefish with rice and chips, also their homemade Trio De Algarve dessert!Everything was great, including...
