Our favorite restaurant in Portugal. We called and made a reservation in advance as that appears to be required. My husband loved the cream of spinach soup and the pork tenderloin with orange sauce and I enjoyed the filet with an olive oil rosemary sauce. We also both liked the salad they served with the meal. We liked it so much we made a reservation for the next night while we were at the restaurant.

Went in on Friday evening around 8.00 pm and there were only two or three occupied tables. The owner approached us and I asked if he had a table for two. He completely ignored us, walked right past me and proceeded to have a conversation with a member of staff who was positioned at the front door. After a few moments he came back ion, walked past us as we stood waiting and then returned to resume his conversation with the waiter at the door, passing us again to do so and expertly avoiding any eye contact. At that point we left and went to Saffron Indian Restaurant where the food and service could not have been nicer. I’ve eaten in Arte before but I certainly won;t be back - this guy just doesn’t know how to treat customers.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times. The food is fantastic and the service is on par with the best of restaurants in terms of attention to detail. The setting is intimate and comfortable, and you can get a sea view if you sit on the terrace. Daily lunch specials are tasty and affordable. I especially recommend the Prawns Piri-Piri appetizer, any of the fish dishes, and any of the Risotto dishes. This is now our favorite restaurant in the Algarve.

First time of eating in here last night and can highly recommend it. The food is amazing and probably the best Seabass I've ever eaten. Prices are so reasonable too, two of us, 2 courses each, several glasses of wine and a few beers and the price came in at less than €55. Definitely on my return list when I come back to Portugal next year.

As good as ever, and one of the highlights of our annual visit to Praia de Luz! Lunch or dinner, it doesn't really matter which because the choices are the same. Samuel and his good lady are still delivering fantastic food at a reasonable price. And I'm not going to recommend any dish because they're all excellent! Over the years he has expanded the menu slightly and improved the choice of deserts, but the quality has never fallen.

On the basis of good reviews we booked a table at Arte Restaurant, and we were so pleased we did. Arte is a small family run restaurant in the centre of Praia de Luz, with Samuel front of house capably assisted by his daughter and son and his wife in the kitchen preparing amazing food. The menu showed many lovely sounding options which meant we were spoiled for choice. For starters we had garlic mushrooms and bruschetta with mackerel fillets, both dishes were beautiful with fresh tasty garnishes. For mains, my wife had fillet mignon steak cooked to perfection and I had sea bass fillets served with a beautiful fresh green salad and garlic potatoes. Both dishes were as good as anything we tasted during this holiday to Luz. We looked at the desert menu and had to have the chocolate brownie and the apple cake, both beautifully baked and so tasty. We sat near to another two couples who had been coming to Arte many times on their regular trips to Luz, who both said the food was always delicious and that the friendliness of Samuel and family meant they would keep returning. After last night we will definitely returning again when we get the chance. This restaurant offers beautiful unpretentious food prepared and served by people who are passionate about what they do.

We had a really lovely meal here as a family of four. Our two children really enjoyed it and the service was amazing - quirky and friendly, appealing to our children’s mischievous sides! The fish dishes were so well cooked - an amazing prawn salad and a really creamy risotto. The puddings were also great, rounded off with an espresso. It’s well worth walking up from the seafront and eating here! Excellent!

A tiny nicely decorated gem which can easily be missed but is definitely worth a visit. Lovely food which does not adhere to the conventional Portuguese format. The garlic mushrooms are superb. Friendly and efficient service by Samuel who clearly demonstrates quality care of his guests and attention to detail. We've booked another visit already

Lovely place, the owner is a funny lad, made the evening really enjoyable. The food was excellent on its own though, especially the tuna ceviche. I appreciate the specialities of tonight as well, they are always something that is not on the regular menu and are also cheaper. Definifely visit if you are in Luz.
