We went to the Islamic festival and decided to have lunch at this restaurant, which seemed nice and well located. We ordered starters (bread, butter, olives…) which never arrived. We ordered pork with migas which arrived after waiting 1:30 hours. The food was terrible, the meat didn't taste good, the crumbs seemed to have been heated in the microwave and everything was in a greasy sauce that left us in a bad mood for the rest of the day. We finished eating and went to pay, whereupon the waiter started dictating to the cashier everything that didn't make it to the table (and that obviously we weren't going to pay for). The employee is friendly and seems like a good person, but he clearly doesn't have the capacity to work at busy times. The other gentleman (I assumed he was the boss) is very friendly to those who suit him, the rest of the customers simply despise him. It's a shame, as it's a place with a lot of untapped potential. With this management we will not return.
Good home made food, nice service, pleasant place + a beautiful river view if you sit outside. Local restaurant, local food, good price, recommend absolutely.

Restaurantji Recommends
My hubby and I ate a late lunch there. The restaurant is simple but has a good selection of authentic Portuguese food. Its location is priceless. You can see the river while enjoying your meal in the terrace. The owner speaks only Portuguese but is very friendly. However, the menu has pictures with the name of the dishes in three languages which facilitates the choosing of your meal. The food was DELICIOUS! In our next visit to Mertola, we'll surely eat there again!
(Translated by Google) The food is very good and the prices are reasonable.I especially recommend the Secretos de Porco Preto, one of the best I've ever had, and the migas with ribs. Personally, these are my favorite dishes. Wild boar, on the other hand, is not my taste, it can be a disappointment for those who are not familiar with the dish.(Original)A comida é muito boa e os preços são em conta.
Not bad! We stopped in for lunch and had the javali, the bochechas(pork cheek). Many of the previous reviews spoke about long waiting to get food, we waited less than 30 minutes in a full restaurant where we arrived last. The food average, price wasn't bad. It just seemed more for the visitor than for the local. One bonus is that the menu has pictures that show the dishes
(Translated by Google) It was a very good experience, the food (migas and gazpacho) were top notch, small restaurant, but still the service was fast, to repeat ?(Original)Foi uma experiência muito boa, a comida(migas e gaspacho) estavam top, restaurante pequeno, mas ainda assim foi rápido o atendimento, a repetir ?
