“Fast and friendly service. Very generous servings. Well-made accompaniments. I wish the chicken had been roasted closer to serving time, but I know it's not easy. Fair price. I'll come back to check. Good luck to the team. The employee who attended is very competent and can come to do the ”

“We had lunch here on a day tour from Funchal. We chose just the right time as there were a few tables free when we sat down but within 10 minutes it was full. I ordered a ham and cheese toasty which came with chips and was only €4.50! For the amount of food it was really quite cheap. We sat outside which was nice, but don't expect a nice view - it is next to a car park and on the main road. Service was good.”

“O Emigrante is an unpretentious café-restaurant located at the market-square of Evoramonte. Alejento cuisine define its character. The restaurant is family owned and managed. Service is very friendly. The daughter of the owners, who is also serving at the restaurant, speaks English well. The restaurant is open for drinks, lunch & dinner and is popular with locals as well as tourists. You can dine inside or at the terrace at the square. We came on a weekday for dinner and the place was busy with local men enjoying social gossip and a glass of beer after a way of work. We dined at the terrace and went for pork chops and turkey chops, both with home made potato chips and salad, accompanied with a small bottle of Alejento red. Both the dishes had two large chops. When you fancy less meat, go for sharing and ask extra chips. When you want an OK dinner, O Emigrante is the place for you. Don’t expect fine dining.”
