From the outside my 1st thought was “this is either going to be very bad or extremely good” and it is for sure more than amazing. We started off with some Moelas after being explained that the house’s concept was to share the food. They were superb! After that we moved on to a bife da vazia, cooked to perfection, with homemade fries and bean rice. Just WOW! For deserts we opted for the Delícia de Chocolate and a Cheesecake de Caramelo Salgado - both devine! Very friendly...
The place and the waiters are extremely pleasant. The food was spectacular, we ordered the grilled vegetables (exquisite), the picaña (rarely cooked and very tasty) and shrimp also with a dipping sauce that didn't leave a drop. Honorable mention goes to the chocolate mousse and the wonderful salted caramel cheesecake that we had to repeat because it was so good. And very well priced.
If you are in the area, you really, really should come to Xico and Xica's - we are on day 13 of 14 days in Portugal and this was head and shoulders above anything else we've had. It truly is that good.Please do yourself a favour and come here. It started excellent and just kept getting better as more came out. We ended on the vegetable board, tuna steak, and batatas fritas and when our server asked how things were I only half jokingly said I wanted to kiss the chef....
