First time at this friendly Portuguese restaurant. Called in for early dinner with friends after golf at Pinhal in nearby Vilamoura. At 17.30 still very quite so service quick and attentive. Plenty of choice from an extensive menu. We opted for Mixed Kebabs and Chicken Piri-Piri. All very good. Placed filled up quickly from about 18.00hrs and the single waitress was then under some pressure but coped well.

Found this restaurant to be okay with quick service but we were shown to an outside table which didnt have any wow factor to say the least. Also a large party of very noisy people arrived inside which caused some people to leave / swap tables. The food was quite good and prices reasonable.

We had booked forgot to book our restaurant and couldn’t find one in the area so decided to come to O Assador even though there had been no reviews. We ordered Garlic bread to start with cheese and it was really nice on sour dough bread but only one problem a black hair on the plate bread sitting on it! I never mentioned it and just said let’s eat and go. Chicken steak arrived and was like a tile it was so over cooked and hard and Peri peri chicken (smallest half a chicken I have even seen) was also hard and very little chicken on it. Both dishes had been drizzled with garlic oil of some worth which was very over powering. Homemade French fries which were really nice. Bill came in at €30.90 we declined to have desert paid our bill and left. My rating 3/10 better elsewhere

This was a good restaurant, which was very close to our hotel. The service was a bit slow, but the food once served was delicious. We would recommend the Kebabs.

Visited here twice and both times food and service was exceptional it is freshly cooked so expect to wait a while but worth it. Staff very friendly and under no pressure to leave once your meal is finished. Have stayed in the area lots of time but have never visited before now but would defo recommend and will defo return on our next visit.

I had the tuna steak Portuguese style, my wife had the chicken kebab. Both very nice, great service and very reasonably priced. Would recommend a visit.

We have been in this area four times in the past but never ventured to O Assador before last night. Went with the intent of having piri-piri chicken … and ended up having something different. Three of our group had the skewers with chicken, pork and shrimp; one had the “cod Assador style” which was in a large dish with potatoes and some bacon on top of the cod. It was a lovely meal and the service was impeccable. The cost was reasonable and we consider this to be a “good find” in terms of local restaurants.

Been here twice this week. The menu is not very expansive but the food is really decent and prices reasonable. But it’s the service that needs mentioning. It is delightful, efficient and unobtrusive. It is open now for the rest of the winter when many places are closed and worth a visit.

Wonderful food and great service. We can recommend the kebabs and pork ribs, simply delicious. Very good prices too. Great choice of deserts, it was very quiet when we visited with only a few people there. Lovely atmosphere.
