I didn't eat, I just visited the municipal museum, a former prison, very well presented and very interesting. Extremely friendly, accessible and professional staff

We ate 2 evenings in this simple restaurant with generous cuisine at a very affordable price. For 12 euros, a soup and a dish from 5 suggestions. The lady who served us only spoke Portuguese but that didn't bother us.

Pay attention to orders. Small print may influence the final bill. Example of the Pork menu. The menu says Portuguese, but they bring it to Alentejana, excluding everything else on the menu. Paying separately. Pay attention to the invoices at the end.

I had delicious lamb stew and my husband had tasty pork ribs for main evening meal. Homemade almond and egg dessert, translated as “bacon from heaven” absolutely amazing. We will definitely eat here again when we return

Beautiful view from the terrace. Drinks break during the day. Staff not engaging. No linguistic effort, no credit card payment, no smile...
Fortunately for them, few businesses are open.

The Alentejo pork we ordered was undercooked and the table service left something to be desired.

The food is reasonably good, however the service and space I have nothing good to say except the view from one of the tables.

Nothing adapted for babies, no car seats or children's menus

Good food with good portions and at an affordable price. The service was a little slow.
The only thing we found more expensive was the price of the desserts.
Beautiful view in the historic center of Marvão

The remaining criticisms here reflect well what we found there. Authentic dislike, without any interest in customer service. The poor disposition of the restaurant owners creates a horrible atmosphere in the room. The food leaves a lot to be desired. Migas are nothing more than crushed boiled potatoes, which have nothing to do with typical Alentejo migas. The ribs were charred. In any worthy restaurant this dish should not have come to the table. The grilled salmon was basic, with nothing good or bad about it. The salad, equally basic with 3 lettuce leaves and 3 tomato slices from the supermarket, also tasteless.Desserts are expensive and not worth the price. €6 for a small bowl of almost tasteless chestnut mousse is too much. €5 for an identical glass of chocolate mousse, also with little flavor. With so many good restaurants in Alentejo, I don't recommend it.

The dining room is clean, the service is quick, toilets are available, the prices are quite low, the quality of the food offered is "okay" considering the prices, the portions are very generous and the place is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Although the servers in place during our visit spoke neither English nor French, it was not difficult to make ourselves understood. Our complete meal (2 starters and 2 main courses) cost us 22 Euros. However, the service could be more welcoming and courteous. Given the small number of restaurants in Marvao, it may be difficult to get a table during busy periods.
