Its name is not in vain, poor is the best definition of its food, and of course freezer fries....Buff! I couldn't do that anymore.

My local friend has been raving about this restaurant since before I came to Portugal. Today, we finally made it there, famished from skipping breakfast and lunch. Despite our timing, we got a table right away.

We ordered clams (resembling mini dinosaurs), prawns, and sea bass with potatoes and a side salad. I loved the toasted bread they brought out. The prawns were incredibly sweet, and the clams were juicy, chewy, and delicious. One bite of toasted bread with butter, shrimp with cocktail sauce, and clam had my taste buds celebrating.

Then came the sea bass with potatoes and salad. The fish was incredibly fresh, perfectly seasoned, and those potatoes were divine. The salad, though simple, complemented the meal well, especially the sweet white onions. We loved them so much we asked for extra.

For dessert, we had "camel froth” (?translated ??)which tasted like caramel mousse, and my friend enjoyed a cake made with egg whites, reminiscent of marshmallow. Both were excellent.

The service was efficient, handled by two older gentlemen and a lady. They weren't overly friendly but definitely not rude, managing the busy crowd with skill. Overall, a fantastic dining experience.

We ate a seafood platter for 2 people. Of the seafood platter, the best is the zapateira (sea ox for the Spanish). To finish we ordered choco in its ink, very delicious. Very good waiter service. To make a point about the beer. I can't get used to Portuguese beer. The price within the line is €47 for a seafood platter.

I liked everything! Not to mention the huge seafood platter that’s as big as my budget! I was really amazed, it easily serves 4 people, but the price was for 2.
