Excellent Portuguese food. We ate grilled lulas (squid) and breaded fillets. They were garnished with potatoes and rice/cabbage. Lots of quantity and at a good price. The diners were all Portuguese. The interior of the place is pleasant and very clean, with an exposed stone wall and another with ceramics with Portuguese motifs. The exterior façade is quite "shabby" and does not reflect the interior reality of the premises. The local staff is very nice and friendly.

Good atmosphere price quality as expected pleasant and family atmosphere
Wheelchair accessibility: With entrance accessible to people with wheelchairs as it has a flat entrance
Recommended dishes: Espetada de Boi, Bacalhau A Braga, Sardinha Assada, Tarte de Maracujá, Lulas
The service is excellent, the staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was great and didn't take long. I recommend the roast beef dish and the cheesecake dessert. The price is affordable and the food is very good. The environment is super calm.
Kid-friendliness: There is space to bring strollers and there are many dessert options for children.
Wheelchair accessibility: It has access for people in wheelchairs, so the entrance to the restaurant has a wheelchair closed in a corner.

This restaurant makes a pleasant contrast to the seafood restaurants Matosinhos has become known for. It seems to be a place where Portuguese families eat and eat well for a very reasonable price. My fried squid was crisp and tasty, service efficient and friendly, and the restaurant itself is smart and spotlessly clean.

This seems to be called Restaurante Espigueiro now. A quality place where the locals eat. Fast service. I had the lulas fried and with chips accompanied by a small carafe of white wine and followed by chocolate mousse. €20. Much better value than those tourist trap fish restaurants and the food was fresher.

We ate very well and cheaply. The only thing I didn't like was the smell of the restaurant when I entered, but it wasn't because of the dirt. I think it was because of the cod.
