Rino is a professional and warm Japanese restaurant in Porto, run by Japanese people. It offers a wide range of authentic Japanese cuisine, including sushi, sashimi, sake, Japanese shochu, and draft beer. The menu features delicious dishes such as tamago, spicy fried chicken, Oden, sushi mix, and tempura mix, as well as desserts like chestnut cheesecake and banoffee. The food is consistently praised for its exceptional quality and freshness, with the braised toro and chestnut cheesecake being particular highlights. Customers appreciate the cozy, minimalist atmosphere and the excellent service. The sushi and sashimi dishes are exceptional. This place gives you a feeling of going to a small izakaya in Japan with an authentic atmosphere and good service. It was honestly incredible, the best sushi ever had. The restaurant is run by a very kind and skilled Japanese couple. Everything from the minimalistic interior, to the plates, to even the miso soup was perfect. The sushi and sashimi lunch menu for 25 euros was a steal. It started with a small cold noodle salad with fish, cucumbers, and tomatoes that was an amazing combination of flavors. Then came sashimi, beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked, followed by sushi with a delicious miso soup on the side. Both courses came with real wasabi. Finally, a dessert was picked from 3 options. It is truly the highest quality fish ever tasted. Reservation is essential as there are only a handful of tables and they are always fully reserved. Parking is usually available except maybe for the summer weekends. It is located on the ground level but a bit crammed inside.
