Excellent local place for dinner. I highly recommend this if you like good local food. It is not fancy, but all the starter and main course dishes were excellent. The desserts were nothing special, but the atmosphere and the good friendly service made up for that.

I was visiting the village of Marialva and as I knew its proximity to Meda, we looked for a restaurant in the municipality to have lunch. The Lagar was the option. We arrived around 1:30 pm, the house was busy. After waiting for attention from an employee, one of them who was watching us sideways, indicated a table that gave access to the bar. It wasn't comfortable, as one of us would be looking at a wall and the other would be looking to the side, uncomfortable. Finally, another, more empathetic employee switched tables for us.
There weren't many options on the menu, as the opening hours were already extended. We ordered the available option: Barbecue chicken. It arrived cold, unseasoned, a disaster. We ate. because there was no other choice. The price: it is not expensive, nor could it be, what they deliver to the customer is very well paid.
We left frustrated with the food and the initial service. I try to be fair in my criticisms and mitigate the flaw, the unhappiness of the day, a Sunday and the time already late. However, it serves as a reflection for the house managers, if they see the comment that way.
However, I will not return to the Lagar. If I visit Meda I will look for other options.

Excellent, friendly and attentive staff, 5* service, food of a quality that is difficult to find in big cities. If you pass through Meda, stop at the Lagar. Outstanding price/quality. We ate Picanha, Naquinhos, barbecue chicken, desserts, starters and coffees and paid 35 euros! for 3 people.
