Super hot terrace. Cold food. Terrible chanfana, one of the worst I've ever eaten.
High price for quantity and quality!

We arrived at 2:30 pm and the employee with a terrible face said there was no more service. Hours, they make people move by saying they were open until 3pm. A shame.

Complete lack of respect for customers. They claim they are open until 3pm and when we arrived at 2:25pm they did not serve us. Previous reviews say everything about the place.

It was a very disappointing experience.
To begin with, we made a reservation for a group of 9 people, by phone, we arrived at the place and there was an indication that the restaurant was closed and that it would be open at the hotel 200 meters away. This wouldn't be inconvenient if they had informed us when we called that same afternoon, after all, the experience starts from the moment we make the reservation.
We arrived and they gave us a single letter for the 9 people. We kept an open mind, placed the order and from here, it only got worse. The drinks were brought in a haphazard manner and almost thrown on the table, the wine glasses were dirty and when we asked for a change they brought others that were the same or worse, the wine was hot and was not given to taste or even served.
The food was average, the chanfana, which was the reason for the visit, was nothing special, not very refined and the meat was still tough. The osso buco brought a branch of bay leaves with five leaves, the vegetarian dish did not have any source of vegetable protein, the negalhos lacked salt... To finish, the icing on the cake was that we ordered the jeropiga pudding and had coming with ants...
It's really a shame and sadness to see a place like this with such fame and potential have this lack of quality. I hope one day I can visit and change this review.
Vegetarian options: There are, but they do not have any type of vegetable protein source.

Even though I enjoyed it and repeated the experience, I only leave a note of improvement. Roasted goat is not actually goat. More grown up (goat). They must improve this situation, as it "destroys" other good qualities. Staff, young and in a learning cycle, but very good. Go guys, because next time I want to give 5 stars. Thank you for everything and best wishes.
We ate the skewers and were pleasantly surprised. The service was very friendly and attentive.

Very very bad, I ate a bloodless sarrabulho with late potatoes, a tiny dose, the prices have nothing to do with what is on the website, misleading advertising, the wine is very weak for the price of €16, I think it's an exaggeration. Then they complain that the restoration is bad, it's a robbery.

We read a review about the chanfana being awful and nearly didn't go. But we changed our mind and went anyway. We have lived here for 29 years and eaten chanfana a lot. This was the best chanfana ever. So tender it just melted in our mouths. So delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant. Especially if you have kids because of the amazing zoo.
I love chanfana, but never again. We ordered 2 doses of chanfana, when we started eating the meat was so tough and dry that we couldn't eat it.In the end we called their attention, and the answer was that it was the 1st batch, the 2nd batch was already tender, it was all bullshit, the food that was served was heated from the previous day.It used to be good, now it's worse than in a hypermarket or a barbecue restaurant.I paid 18 euros for each dose, even €5 was worth it.A restaurant with a good bed, good table recommendation cannot serve exquisite food.Unfortunately, with this way of operating the restaurant's days are numbered.

Restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and little else, unfortunately.Upon arrival we had to wait almost 15 minutes for a table to be found for us, and the restaurant was practically empty. After we were seated, it took another 20 minutes for them to come to the table and take the order, while at the next table there were 3 waiters serving drinks, which in my view was enough for 1 as it was a table with 8 people. The food came relatively quickly, but honestly it was nothing more than that (two octopus and two wild boar) far from worth the money and the wait. Nothing special in quality and very small doses. The desserts are better not to mention, the worst rice pudding I've ever had.Highlighting something positive, perhaps the friendliness of the waitress, but honestly it's the only good thing I can find.To give you an idea of the prices, we spent €120/4 people...

I had to come to the capital of Chanfana and to a restaurant called Museu da Chanfana for the first time in my life not to be able to eat this dish that I love. The meat was inedible, it was so tough, without any flavor and the sauce also left a lot to be desired. I don't know the quality of the other dishes but Chanfana is unacceptable, so at the very least I suggest a change of name of the restaurant. There is no low price that would justify subjecting ourselves to this again, but the price is also highly inflated (20 euros per person, without starters, without dessert and only 1 cola each). Clearly I won't be the only one to have this opinion considering that there was no one else eating lunch at the establishment. The only reason I don't give it one star is because of the friendliness of the service and the fact that they agreed to serve lunch at a late hour (it was already after 2pm).

Pleasant surprise. The chanfana was great, the service was very good and the nabada as a dessert was interesting due to the turnip flavor that you wouldn't expect in a sweet. All good to repeat!
