We passed by there and decided to stop. Homemade food bar where working people eat, which is economical. The owner spoke some Spanish which made it easy for us to order although Portuguese writing is quite easy. We ordered chicken dish of the day.

We visited a tapas restaurant in the evening, but were missing a bit of atmosphere and decided have a few nibbles and then turn a corner and see what there was. And…. wow we discovered this amazing restaurant. It’s a huge historic Portuguese restaurant with tiles, frescos, arches & courtyard in a former monastery, so beautiful. We went in and asked nicely if there was space for two people(highly recommended to pre book). Marianne was so kind and seated us and let us browse the 3 areas where we can sit to dine. Then we were served by Jose Candais, he was great and service was amazing, he has been there for like 20 years. The seafood soup and steak was excellent. It was so great that we returned the next day to dine. This time it was a lovely gentleman serving us who had blonde hair and from Brazil. Sorry we can’t remember but you were super. There wasn’t a plain rice dish and he bought some out especially, he made the evening great. We ordered a steak pica dish, some cod with vegetables and some mussels for starters. The price was great too. We would highly recommend this restaurant for its service, great team, excellent food (hats off to the chef), cleanliness. Just ensure you pre book as they get busy towards the weekend.
An excellent dining experience! Clams and prawns were delicious and the absolute best service (Thank you Pedro). Highly recommend a stop here!
Lovely setting but very overpriced - €30 for one (one!) shrimp. The quality and quantity of food does not match what is charged. Far better places to eat in Lisbon.
Stunning interior, slick service and fabulous food. The best cockles I've ever eaten, great leg of lamb (for 2) , mussels, oysters. Classic brasserie food perfectly executed and delivered. What's not to like?
