We were staying in Melgaço and purposely went to Monção to taste typical food from the region. We read the reviews and had no doubt that we were in the right place. Didn't disappoint! We chose sliced veal served with bean rice. A delight. The atmosphere is spectacular and we were very well attended to.
Good parking,at the entrance we can see the excellent wine cellar, with 1/2 bottles (which is rare) an impeccable service (Sra Paulina), a fantastic starter cheese, an empty one that served well, delicious fries, if there is anything I can point out It's the rice... Good, but too simple, but I'll say it again, it was fantastic.Normal price for the quality.Good choice in Monção

1. no open "vinho da casa" (bottled start steep 16€ up to 100€) and
2. you can't choose the cuvert (fix 5€/table incl. olives, cheese, bread, olive oil - no butter or tuna paste as usual) - also you can'T just choose olives and bread, they will charge 5€ anyway - or you skip completely (what potentially they don't allow you)
