You arrive in Moncarapacho, a small village in the Algarve famous for the production of terracotta objects. And in the middle of the week go to this characteristic restaurant for lunch. Beautiful and functional location, generous dishes, excellent carapau (mackerel fillets), gazpacho as good as the sopa de legumes. It is really worth a trip to visit the village and make a stop in O Antonio.

The best restaurant in the Algarve, at least from our point of view and from all the ones we have visited. A little more expensive for Portugal, but everything was super tasty, fresh and of the best quality. Compared to Germany, cheap for what is offered. We ate here three times and would have gone there on our last evening too. But they are closed on the weekend. Very nice atmosphere and friendly service. The boss is also very nice.

Hat uns dort sehr gut geschmeckt, sehr nette Bedienung, etwas gehobenere Karte aber nicht teuer. Wir hatten Fisch (Wolfsbarsch und Thunfisch) und können diesen sehr empfehlen. Aber auch gute Auswahl an Fleischgerichten sowie Vor- und Nachspeisen. Wir haben draußen an der Strasse gesessen, nicht viel Verkehr, hat uns insgesamt sehr gut gefallen.

Have been eating here for 3 decades. The menu has only had a few tweaks in that time, it's familiar Portuguese food done a little differently. Always popular with expats of many nations. Sadly in the last 2-3 years complacency seems to have set in . Food choices and opening times have shrunk, meanwhile the prices have sky-rocketed. Drinks are expensive, desserts never were a strong point (bought in or frozen). The house wine is not good but upgrading the bottle will drain your wallet. Many dishes now come with a supermarket quality mixed salad rather than fresh veg, even tuna steak does...it just doesn't work. Must've visited > 30 times in all of which about half the meals since 2019 were below par. But price is now the real issue,
