We’re in Quinta Do Lago for a fortnight after a busy Christmas at home , on a walk around the lake on Thursday morning we spotted this restaurant and decided to try for a reservation that evening. We weren’t disappointed. The staff were all excellent , I started with fish pie and my wife had the traditional Portuguese prawns followed by sea bass and monk fish all cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed a lovely Alvarinho wine. We will return
A visit to Casa do Lago is always a treat. This November day had been sunny and warm, but the evening was cold which meant eating indoors. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully presented, and we were shown to a comfortable table for four by the window furthest away from the outdoor tables. We had a lovely night in here as the setting here is second to none. But I have to add that for the prices they charge the food should be great rather than good. There is really nothing special about the menu and the food as I said is nothing to rave about, also all sides are extra which is a bit cheeky.
