“We visited Joanna’s on the recommendation of our Airbnb host Anna and we are so glad we did. We would class ourselves as foodies and have eaten foods from street food to Michelin star and Joanna’s is up there with the best places we have eaten. We arrived 10 minutes before opening (the walk didn’t take us as long as expected) and Dennis, the partner of Joanna, was warm, welcoming and invited us in. Previous reviews have mentioned that the menu is only in Portuguese which was correct, however Dennis explained every dish with passion and also said this would be in English soon. We ordered the black pork, Camembert cheese, slow cooked pork roll and potatoes wedges with a cheese dip. They were all absolutely delicious but the stand out for us was the black pork which out of this world. We were given complimentary wine after our meal which was a real bonus. Dennis is an fantastic host and passionate about the locally sourced food. If they weren’t closed the next day we would have returned.“
