Great comfort food with Alentejo tradition. The chicken is amazing and simply ask for a wine recommendation, you won't be disappointed.

We stopped at this place today at 14:30pm. It is small and cute restaurant. It was full inside (only Portuguese people), but a table was available outside. I thought they would be closing the kitchen and maybe not accept us at that time, but they were very friendly and helpful. We had some entres - melon, farinheira and a bread from the oven, the main course we had the chicken and 2 delicious porc dishes, with migas, rice and salad. I ordered a 1/2 bottle of wine, a large bottle of water and a coke. We shared the desert ‘pao rala’ and we ordered the melon again. The food was delicious and tasteful. Simple and honest traditional food! my favorite was the fried porc… the 4 of was had enough to est and the bill was €68 in total. I would return to this place in the small village outside Elvas.
Simple but good like it use to be long ago.. Service is perfect and food just delicious.. Small menu we tried a variety and they all very good. Fully recommend..
I have been coming to Taberna do Adro for the best of the last 20 years. Coming here is always a most gratifying experience - all dishes are rooted on the traditional folk Alentejo food, prepared with the best local ingredients and wrapped with a lot of love. It’s not just about the food - there is always time to chat with the owner, Maria Jose Sousa, a renown chef, about the history behind each offer on the menu. For me it’s the best restaurant in Alentejo. Period. I look forward to the next pilgrimage here already!
Friendly staff and fantastic food! Very much worth the visit! Couldn't believe how fantastic it was and reasonable, amazing value for money!
Quaint with an amazing atmosphere and extremely kind servers. The chicken and fish are beyond words! Very family friendly.
What a amazing surprise, a very good one indeed. Last minute our plans were changed and it was just perfect. A family run restaurant, dedication and attention not to mention the love in doing are some of the details of their success. Friendly and professional, a great and rare place were care and proud in what to do is demonstrated. Congratulations, great work, keep up the wonderful job, keep up the Alentejo Soul alive. Well done, what a wonderful surprise. Try some of the nice Souvenirs, Antiques in the small and beautiful house.

Good...
Wonderful slow cooked good. The pork and chicken dishes were excellent. Deserts fabulous. Lovely attentive service. Enjoyed every minute in cozy surroundings. Highly recommended.
Good pizza.
Most authentic Portuguese dining experience possible. The food is delicious (try the "galinha tostada" / chicken, for dessert I recommend the cottage cheese tart ("tarte de requeijão")), there is a wide variety of local wines, a true homage to the Alentejo, to the traditions of the region and the flavours of truly traditional Portuguese cuisine. The service is also spotless. Could not recommend enough.
