The most expensive and the most terrible dining experience ever. Arrived at 8pm, did not manage to leave until 1.30am because the service was excruciatingly slow. The amuse bouche that were served were lovely but it truly went downhill from there... Wine 'pairings' ended up as wine 'oddings' as the wine was served straight after each course but then there was a 45 minute delay between courses. Bread, that was proudly presented as yesterday's bread, turned into 'bread from two days ago' as the time went on and on. And what is worst - 4 out of 6 of our group travelled home vomiting the next day. The two that did not come down with anything were the ones who did not eat the weird concoction of savoury ice cream topped with fish roe. Just because you can combine stuff, does not mean you should... Honestly, avoid, avoid, avoid. It'll cost you an arm, a leg and your stomach too.
Went here with a group of 6 colleagues. Had the 9-course tasting menu with wine pairing. After 3 hours we had received only three courses. Told the staff that they needed to speed up. However, used almost 6 hours to get through the meal. Completely disorganised. The wine came, but the food was served 45 min later. In the end, the manager got passive aggressive when we in the said this was below expectations. Said they would compensate us on the bill, but reduced the €1600 bill with €77. Worst fine dining experience ever. Just stay away. We did have a lot of laugh though. In despair. Will remember this night for the rest of my life.
Absolutely a 5/5 Michelin star quality dinner. It was a tasting menu and we did one of the regular and one of the vegan tasting selection. Every single dish was creative and highly unique. This was a long series of small bites that were all super interesting and exquisite. The drinks were also fantastic, and the atmosphere was very floral and appealing. We thought this was a good value for our money.
We were in Lisbon for my 40th and chose this place for the special birthday evening dinner - we’re so glad of our choice. It’s a tasting menu and we were asked about our restrictions and foods we dislike (I’m a fussy eater but decided to be brave). From the initial cocktail and snacks we were blown away - such consideration for mouthfeel, how the ingredients complement each other, ingredient quality and presentation. Boubou’s strikes a balance between a relaxed feel and a silver service and top quality dining - the staff are all really enthusiastic about the ‘story’ of the food and so knowledgeable and helpful. It’s definitely worth getting the wine pairing - my SO doesn’t really drink but is now a natural wine convert. Again, how everything fits together is so considered. I love how much the restaurant shouts out to the team (everyone’s names are listed on the back of the menu) and apparently the head chef is 26(!) - I can’t wait to hear more of what she gets up to. If we plan another Lisbon trip BouBou’s is definitely on the list.
Very good food Total package! It is a one menu restaurant. But they worked with our dislikes. Would recommend for Foodies and special occasions
Decided to try out this restaurant as it was a top 10 recommended place on various websites. As a person who’s had many fine dining experiences, I would say this place was dramatically overrated and not worth its price. 10/10 on crafting beautiful dishes. 3/10 on the taste. The best part of dinner were the wines paired with the delightful sommelier - Give her a raise! For people traveling to Lisbon and in search for great food, there are so many other places around the city that will satiate your foodie appetite for half the price of this place. BouBou’s. Your restaurant was a perfect encapsulation of what the movie “The Menu” was all about. I hope you guys can do better ?.
We let Boubous know in advance that we were vegan and they prepared an astonishing tasting menu for us. The staff were incredibly cheerful and the (mostly female) chefs we could see working in the kitchen produced an inventive, delicious and beautiful selection of dishes. We might return to Lisbon just to dine there again.
What a fabulous evening we had. A lovely warm welcome from Cora and the Sommelier, Sophia who were both fantastic, knowledgable and completely made our experience all the more special. The food and flavours were amazing and so delicious, and the wine complemented this perfectly. We can’t thank the team at BouBous enough for such a special, memorable and relaxed evening. A must visit if you are in Lisbon!
Perfect for a creative imaginative gastro diner with good wine. The service & atmosphere are nice. I warmly recommand it if you visit Lisbon.
As noted about Bouibou's in the Michelin guide " became famous when its chef, Louise Bourrat, won the French version of Top Chef in 2022! Modern, internationally inspired cuisine with a feminine touch." We found the dishes to be tasty and creative... and served in a very pleasant room withy relaxed vibe. This was one of two great dining experiences during our Lisbon stay. The other was Sála de João Sá,

Be careful to book this restaurant. They require a 48 hour cancellation and do not answer the phone. I had to cancel because I was sick and they charge us 170 Euros nearly $200 for not coming. My hotel called and they would not accept cancellation, then I called, and they would not accept the cancellation and required me then to email them and still charged me. Avoid if possible.
This meal started off really well. We were here to celebrate my 50th birthday, and my stepdaughter’s first trip to Europe and the end of her freshman year of high school. We also wanted to expose her to a fixed prixe meal in Europe. The food, presentation, and drinks were excellent, including the nonalcoholic pairings. The room was beautiful and the staff attentive. There were a couple of long pauses between courses and at the end we were suddenly asked to take our last course on the patio on the street. We were essentially thrown out, which ended a great evening and really cast a darkness on the entire experience. We were the first to be seated and it was not our fault if we went over the allotted time, which was never communicated. And it disappointing that we were identified as unimportant. Overall it was a great evening, but the last half hour and the fact that we were still charged the same amount greatly dimmed the excitement. I was thrilled to herald the mostly female kitchen and our hotel in Lisbon was looking for our recommendation, but there is a still some work for BouBou’s to do.
Just a beautiful Experience from start to finish. I cannot fault a thing. Beautiful food and a stunning and well thought out wine paring. The staff make you feel as is they are welcoming you in to their home. So personable and friendly. The food is divine with some wonderfully exciting and unusual flavours. We had so much fun and were so looked after. The staff were so lovely to chat to and made our night. A beautiful experience. Thank you so much.
A lot of buzz for nothing !! A haughty welcome, a cuisine that is not really exceptional, managers on the verge of politeness, on the other hand, excessive prices for Lisbon. Luckily nice waiters feeling really sorry.
It was an incredible culinary experience that I will never forget. The food was so creatively prepared and the service, including the Sommelier, was impeccable. I will definitely go back!
