Restaurant to avoid because they are a bunch of thieves. There were six of us when we paid, there were two more dishes on the bill, two more soups, the price of the wine on the bill was higher than what was stated on the menu, in short, a bunch of thieves. In total they were taking 37 euros more. After checking the already paid bill, I forced to return the 37 euros that had taken us extra. .

Bad service, the imperial came hot, I complained and they said they couldn't do anything, I asked for a bottled beer and it came cold, after all you could do something, my daughter asked for ice 3 times, she had to get up to ask again and she already had the answer from the same waiter who had to be calm because there were more tables, there were 2 waiters and there were like 5 tables serving but it was a case of waiting 10 minutes for ice, a place not to be repeated?

I understand that a lot of reviews about this restaurant were not great. I would like to provide a different view point. The restaurant is located in a bit of a back street of the main restaurants in Nazaré beach. We found it because one of the other restaurants in the main stretch just waved us away and boy we were so happy the manager at the other restaurant decided not to serve us because we found a gem. The lunch specials had grilled Sea bass & Grilled sea bream at €10 each and grilled sardines at €9. There was a pork special at €10 as well but we decided to order the three fish and a squid & prawn skewer for the 4 of us. The specials came with salad and roasted potatoes whilst the skewer (€17) came with fries. We were served some amazing bread with 3 different types of condiments and olives with crushed garlic and herbs. The service team spoke very little English but they did their best to communicate with us. When an order didn’t go correctly (misunderstanding between bottled beer and draft beer), I corrected them and they happily accommodated. The grilled fish were simply sensational and my family said it was the best meal we had in Portugal since we arrived few days ago. They really knew what they were doing with the fresh produce. We only then checked reviews online and so when the bill came, we studied it. They gave us bread and charge 1,1/2 serve for the 4 of us at €2,50. Olives were €2 and the condiments (tuna spread, cheese spread and butter) were €1 each so that the paraphernalia came to €7,50. We thoroughly enjoyed every single bit of that. When we were in Lisbon, the service staff learnt enough to ask if we wanted bread and olives whose prices are clearly listed in the menu. I think you can turn back these side dishes at Maria Matos if you don’t want them. Considering their lunch special is at least €5 less than any other restaurants that is with a 300m walk from them. I would happily pay for that bread and olives in a group of 4 any day.

The truth is that the place does not call for much to sit down, but I love tasquinhas and here we are not wrong. Normal place but well attended, the waiters are very friendly and attentive, which I think is the owner, pure energy and attentive to her customers. The food was very good and well priced. We ordered octopus, delicious, and Alentejo meat, all homemade. It's definitely worth eating here.

The experience is interesting. But for some reason some woman (probably the hostess) screamed loudly all the time. Dirty dishes were constantly placed on the table next to ours. You cannot pay by card.I'm raising the score! Because the young waiter caught up with us and gave us the sunglasses that we forgot on the table ❤️?. Thank you!

I don't recommend it!!Prices too high for the quality of food and service.To start, the portion of clams à Bulhão Pato and the portion of octopus salad were very small and very expensive for the size of the portion.Main course of grilled cuttlefish had only two cuttlefish cut in half with four potatoes, one of them rotten!!The Panaché had no gas and was hot.Horrible!!!!The service sucks. The presentation of the tables is not clean or organized as it should be in a restaurant.The owner speaks very loudly, forces customers to get up and sit somewhere else they don't want to!Employees work under stress and seem to be exploited by the owner.The bathrooms were dirty and the view from the kitchen was deplorable.I do not recommend and will not return.
