A Colmeia is a very relaxed place to eat. The staff are helpful and friendly, guiding us through the menu and accommodating of our lack of Portuguese language skills.The food is fresh and tasty and exceptional value. We went at lunchtime and chose the option with four dishes, salad and juice for 8EUR. There were plenty of dishes to choose from, all really healthy and tasty.The dining space is bright and clean with views down to the river. Well worth a visit.

If you are not local you are treated poorly…It was 1pm and they said there was no dish of the day…Alheira that arrived had olive pits on the plate… clear demonstration of kitchen hygiene..After payment... They still came back saying that we owed €20... asking that it had not been paid with a receipt issued... very bad... if you are not local... total contempt for those who are not known...
