Montebelo Vista Alegre Ílhavo Hotel

This is a lovely hotel, but fell short of a 5 star experience for the following reasons:

- reception often didn’t not answer phone calls despite trying multiple times.
- when they did answer they often understood the request incorrectly and so we had to keep calling to correct errors
- we were in room 101, which is closest to the bridge which makes an absolute racket all day and night, like a train going by, so sleep was disturbed. Despite them knowing about this problem and having several complaints they still give this room out
- there was no internet connection in the room and even the so called working / business spaces in the hotel
- breakfast was nice but chaotic, with many items often running out, during busy times they need a second area for to cope
- no visibility of any hotel manager
- despite putting a request for room to be cleaned this didn’t happen on one day

Generally staff were very pleasant and kind, spa and pool facilities nice

The air conditioning did not work in the room located in the Palace but it was quickly replaced by a room in another part of the hotel but not in the Palace.

Rooms: In the Palace area they are a little poorly maintained.
In the other part of the hotel they are quite pleasant.

Noteworthy details: In the pool area, the noise from the wooden bridge is deafening. Of course the hotel is not to blame

Wonderfull stay at Montebelo Vista Alegre. Stayed in a 2 bedroom. Large with full kitchen. Breakfast was wonderful and both outdoor and indoor pools are relaxing. Service at reception, restaurant and pool bar was exceptional. Would give 6 stars. Beach about 10 minutes away. Complimentary tickets to Vista Alegre museum.

I loved everything. The space, the view, the room, the pool area. Great for relaxing. They offer entry to the Vista Alegre museum and a discount in the store on both Vista Alegre and Bordalo Pinheiro crockery. Coming back for sure.

Hotel located in Vista Alegre, Ilhavo, near Aveiro and close to beaches such as the Costa Nova area with the typical colorful houses. Passing the bridge you can see birds from the marshes and fishermen in the area. Curiously, there are several storks on the roof.
Tranquility in the middle of summer. You can visit the porcelain factory museum and the chapel with free admission.
It has apartments and a palace in addition to the new area. Covered parking and another outside.
There are rooms with a balcony and views of the pool and river.
Large shallow outdoor pool and another for children. There is a cafe in the same area.
Inside there is a heated one, another smaller jacuzzi and saunas.
They are all very spacious. Bathtub and shower tray with complete amenities. Minibar coffee maker and kettle.
Breakfast is varied with typical products from the area as well as fruit, dairy products, sausages, cheeses, breads, pastries and different juices.
Very friendly and helpful staff.

Walkability: Schöne Anlage zum spazieren oder verweilen.

Food & drinks: Sehr gute Auswahl am Frühstück Buffet. Alles sehr lecker und frisch.

Bad costumer service. they were rude multiple times. ordered room service and was not even given what i asked which was a simple black tea. they gave hot water and no tea bag. the service to order tea was also extra 10 euros. for what? no tea. then they didnt answer room service i called 3 times.

Excellent place to spend time with the family.
Beautiful landscapes, excellent swimming pool and good entertainment for children, including the indoor pool.
We were just disappointed with the lack of entertainment that only started on the 15th of July and was very reduced at night only and the main pool bar was closed. Until the 16th, the kids club was not operational until the 16th....
