Madok Restaurante Castelo de Óbidos

Das Ambiente hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Ein Hauch von Harry Potter, dazu gute Rock-Klassiker als musikalische Untermalung. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Eigentlich ideale Voraussetzungen für eine gelungene Mahlzeit. Was enttäuschend war und mich davon abhält, mehr als drei Sterne zu vergeben? Nun, beim ersten Besuch waren wir noch recht zufrieden mit den Fleischgerichten. Doch beim zweiten Besuch war die Qualität wesentlich schlechter. Viele Sehnen und Knorpel, kein wirklicher Genuss. Ok, haben wir uns gedacht, vielleicht hatten wir ja nur Pech. Aber auch beim dritten Besuch wurden wir wieder enttäuscht. Vom „Fleisch“ blieb bei mir ein gutes Stück liegen, denn es war derart von Sehnen durchsetzt, dass ich es nicht essen konnte. Ich habe mich auch beim Kellner beschwert, doch bis auf ein freundliches Achselzucken kam keine Reaktion.
Wirklich schade, doch da ich keine Fischgerichte mag (und diese deshalb auch nicht probiert habe), werde ich dieses Restaurant wohl nicht wieder aufsuchen. Ambiente hin oder her, das Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis stimmt einfach nicht.

We really liked the environment. A touch of Harry Potter and good rock classics as background music. The staff is very friendly and courteous. In fact, the ideal conditions for a successful meal. What is disappointing and prevents me from giving more than three stars? Well, on our first visit we were quite satisfied with the meat dishes. But on the second visit, the quality was much worse. Lots of tendons and cartilage, nothing special. Okay, we thought, maybe we were unlucky. But we were disappointed again on our third visit. I ate very little of the "meat" because it was so full of tendons that I couldn't eat it. I also complained to the employee, but other than a friendly shrug of the shoulders, I didn't get any response.
A shame, but as I don't like fish dishes (and that's why I didn't try them), I probably won't go back to this restaurant. Environment or not, the price/performance ratio is not correct.

"Typical Portuguese" food but with no taste whatsoever, cold food, no seasonings, frozen vegetables coming out of the bag, served still cold inside, tiny cod fillet... At the time of the complaint, the chef didn't even leave the kitchen. To be avoided completely!

The best is the location. We ate on the terrace and you can enjoy its beautiful streets. Acceptable quality/price.

The food is not bad, but it is worse than what the waiters sell you. If you want to have drinks with your food, better ask the price, because that's where they nail you.

Food is fine but not at the level of the price, ask for the drinks price. If you don't speak Portuguese it will be an adventure at the time.

Very expensive for the quality, we have eaten so-so. Beers at northern European prices, 5 euros each.

Great restaurant! I have celiac disease and am a vegetarian but it wasn't a problem at all. The chef came out and spoke to me about it and the food was absolutely delicious. Can definitely recommend eating there. Lovely food and staff!

Oh man I never leave reviews but I felt like I had to save some future guests from what we experienced. The food and drinks were really not good. And the ambience was really odd. The pictures from other reviews do not represent what’s actually happening here, sadly. We left after barely touching our food.
:( I feel bad. The server was sweet though.

The indoor environment is great, the food is well seasoned and very well presented. The price is standard for tourist attractions and the same as other restaurants, but here it is worth the price.

Cozy atmosphere, good service. Food well presented but without flavor, octopus potas served raw “hard” without any flavor. 5 people at the table all complained about the same thing. Raw and cold food.

Great food, well seasoned, very tasty. Everything we order is always very good! The staff is very friendly...only the music was a little loud the last time I went but every time I visit Obidos I have lunch here!!! I've tried others but to date it's been the best and that's why now it's always my choice! I love the house-made shrimp for starters and the fish fillet on a bed of spinach with white sauce as a main course!!!
