“A highly recommended restaurant to try different dishes as a couple or with family/friends. Very nice views of the church from the interior patio. Very good treatment from the staff who gave us a table without a reservation despite it being full. We ordered the ceviche (OK but not the best of our lives), the cod croquettes which were delicious and to finish the Iberian pluma (good flavor but a little dry). For dessert: creme brulée, which was very good. In general a bit expensive compared to the rest of the restaurants in Óbidos.“

“We arrived as a party of six and order food and drinks , another group arrived and ordered 20mins after us, and you guessed it they got there food and had finished their meal before our starters.
Appalling service and the food wasn’t much better.“

“Good beneficial x price ratio. Good food and "honest" service. The inside room, where I ate, is a normal place that didn't generate any special memories for me, but remember that there are tables outside where you can have a view of the citadel and, perhaps, a more pleasant experience.“
“A bit pretentious as its name suggests.
The prices are correct, but the tastes are nothing exceptional (it's still OK despite everything). And I was entitled to very fast service between the starter and the main course, but I waited a long time for the dessert.
However, the chocolate cake is really very good.
And the terrace under the lemon tree is just great“
“Highly, highly recommend!! You only need 2 hours in Obidos Obidos. Then go to REX Gastro pub for a curry, sorry not pictured but it was amazing! Say hi to Simon, the owner, he is a lovely guy. And Buddy, pictured, is just a gentle giant. Wonderful place for lunch or dinner ?“

“Small village restaurant. Frankly, it's better to come and eat in this restaurant than in Obidos center. Top notch service. I went with 4 children, the waitress was super pleasant, and super patient, with the children's hesitations and changes of mind. Simple but very tasty home cooking. Everything is fresh.
Reasonable price. Huge children’s menu €8. Fish and shrimp €13.50. Meats between €11.50 and €17.50. Nice pieces of meat.“

“Cozy and picturesque atmosphere. When you enter the bar the feeling you have is of traveling back in time. There was a lack of options to eat, there was nothing but cheese, sausage and peanuts. But the beer is cold and the house offers the best sour cherries in the region.“
“After visiting OBIDOS we decided to come and dine in this place following the different Google reviews... What a great discovery! Pleasant welcome and quality products... Excellent dishes! The idea of a cocktail on the themes of astrological signs is original... Go there with your eyes closed...“

“We ate Iberian pork and grilled salmon. Both very good. The side dishes and desserts are also very good. The white sangria is superb. Absolutely recommended. Too bad it was closed the next day for dinner (it was Sunday). Very kind staff.
Place off the beaten track and frequented by locals.“

“Spectacular food. Very tasty and generous quantities. Very good service and very friendly waiters, so much so that we were talking after eating as if we were lifelong friends. We ate outside. Because of the temperature, it was very pleasant, but the occasional fly/insect was annoying because of the flowers around it. I would return“

“Just wonderful!
Absolutely great restaurant and can only be recommended:
Top food!
Great atmosphere!
Top top service!
We had a great meal here and a great evening! The service was super attentive and incredibly nice.
We also had such a nice chat in person.
We would love to come back and can absolutely recommend the restaurant from the bottom of our hearts!
It was the best restaurant in Obidos for us! And we've been eating out every day for 8 days.“
“Fabulous. It is THE place to go and repeat if you go to Óbidos. The typical cafe of the locals where they make you feel at home. Simple, authentic and quality homemade food at a very good price. They serve you with unparalleled education and kindness. Cozy terrace where you can relax and enjoy the surroundings. To return without a doubt“

“Excellent place to eat in Óbidos.
Very delicious food and good service.
We tried the rice with mussels, the beef steak that has rice, potatoes and egg and for dessert the chocolate cake.
All very good and about €23 per person.“
“Thanks to the lady who runs the store today I was able to find where my ancestors lived. This speaks of his quality as a person. My heart bursts with joy and it gives me hope that there are still such good people. Thanks for your kind attention.“

“We got in a little before close. We were fortunate enough to get a balcony seat overlooking the town and the countryside as a whole. The view plus the amazing food is an experience I wish everyone has the pleasure to experience at least once.Easily some of the best lamb ever. The cod was delicious as well. Fantastic food with great service. The only aggravation is the fact this restaurant isn’t at a solid 5 star average. They truly deserve it.“
“Popular cafe and restaurant. Real homemade food! The “boss”, Dona Paula, a lovely person, says: “We cook food like we like it”. Almost everything has been said.It is usually dedicated to the dish of the day and that's it. Very good.Example, stew meat with puree. Suggestion: swap the puree for the fries. Fried real potato.Well, the puree if it's like what our mother used to make, then don't change it!The attention of the maid and owner is surprisingly friendly.Who would have thought that this roadside brewery/tavern had these surprises in store.Go and you will like it.Attention: popular space, don't expect luxuries. And so it is even tastier.Note: Homemade French fries, cut into thick sticks and fried. Wonderful.Note 2 - My dears, if there is no dish of the day, order a hamburger on the plate. It comes with such wonderful french fries, tomato and cucumber salad, cut into small pieces and two “homemade meat” burgers. It is worth it.Saturday yes, Saturday no, has Portuguese stew. Come early as it disappears in the twinkling of an eye.If it's the day of the stewed meat with potatoes baked in the oven, everything is done very slowly, almost like in a wood oven. The gowns, for example, took 3 hours to bake to be evenly baked. Excellent for where pork replaces beef comes from. View images. The salad is fantastic, simple but remarkably seasoned. Products from Óbidos, tasty and lively.Call to find out what the dish of the day will be.As the phone number is not easy to find, here it is: 262 100 177The dish of the day costs €7.50 with soup and a beer.Come with an appetite. There's plenty here. But there really is.“

“This space offers a unique experience that combines gastronomy, culture and entertainment. Its decor reminiscent of a library, filled with books, provides a warm and inviting atmosphere, creating an atmosphere that stimulates both the mind and the palate.
The inclusion of live music, especially with the presence of a violinist, adds an extra layer of charm to this already captivating setting.
However, there is a notable personal preference for weekends, when a young violinist lends her musical skill to further enhance the experience.
His dexterity in playing the violin elevates the atmosphere to a higher level of appreciation, making meals not only a gastronomic experience, but also an auditory delight.
In short, while the "Casa do Pastel de Bacalhau" in Óbidos is already a charming destination in itself, the addition of live music, especially in the talented hands of young violinist Dulce Félix, elevates the experience to a higher level, making it to make it even more memorable and enjoyable for visitors.
I highly recommend the Cod Pastel with Cheese filling. It's delicious!“
“En visite à Obidos, nous nous sommes arrêté dans ce restaurant (dans l'hôtel), buffet à volonté 15 € sans les boissons. Accueil excellent et souriant, vous vous régalerez des entrées, plats et desserts proposés. Je recommande *****“

“We are from Brazil and have been traveling for 18 days. We passed through 19 cities. This was the place where we ate best. We were in good restaurants all over Portugal. But here the flavor of all the dishes were delicious, in addition to being very well served. We recommend that everyone, when passing through Óbidos, discover the flavors of Lidador.“

“The view and feel of this place is perfect. Amazing location.
The food: we had very good startes, shrimps, hot goat cheese, burrata and veggie soup.
Main courses were ok. My fish was very good, but the potatoes were uncooked and the vegetables cold. Easy problems to fix. The octopus rice was good, nothing very overwhelming about it.
Skip dessert.
Absolutely go here for the sea view and atmosfere.“

“I find the comments very harsh even if not everything is false. We come to this restaurant every year, it's a must stop. You have to choose your dishes carefully to have quality linked to price and more. Try the very expensive bitoque, it is ?.
€6 for a slice of frozen lemon tart? Ugh. Pay 3€ for a take away? Ugh
Starters/aperitifs at this price? Ugh
In short, it's not that bad, the decor isn't that bad either. Not that much of a wait, the servers aren't all bad on the contrary. The price ratio is not great but we come back every year ?“

“Very cozy little place ideal for eating on the go, but with unfriendly service and speaking neither French nor English, without any help to advise. Excellent sandwiches and very well served with sweet potato chips and grapes. I recommend 100% in this town of Obidos where many restaurants are adapted to tourists and are no longer really authentic“

“Very beautiful restaurant and very good food. We loved the starters and main dishes. The only negative point was the dessert, which was clearly not of the day. We were advised by an employee and unfortunately it was a hard cake that didn't fit in at all with the good experience we had had with the meal. It is not good form to recommend a dessert that is not fresh. Apart from this unfortunate event, the experience was good.“
