Highly, highly recommend!! You only need 2 hours in Obidos Obidos. Then go to REX Gastro pub for a curry, sorry not pictured but it was amazing! Say hi to Simon, the owner, he is a lovely guy. And Buddy, pictured, is just a gentle giant. Wonderful place for lunch or dinner ?

We had an absolutely great time! Amazing Nepalese half continent dishes. Momos are the real deal. Curries are excellent. Try the jalapeno Peppers. Friendly owner and dog!

So lucky this place was open! Turns out everything closes down Xmas Eve, as that’s the time families have their big meal. After hours of walking the walled city I was famished and followed the lights to this cozy place! Best curry and chips in my life! Friend had the best burger of their life! Great beer! British Ex pats to joke with…Owner so welcoming. Couldn’t have had a better experience and better meal!

We stopped at Rex for a quick bite during our visit to Óbidos. The food and service were excellent. I would highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area.

Wonderful lunch by historic aqueduct, away from the hustle and bustle of Obidos traffic. The lunch special was exceptional and the fries are as good as they get. A great selection of Belgian beers. Highly recommended place to stop for a relaxing beer. Free parking is located behind the restaurant.

We visited after a day out in Obidos, wanted to find it after seeing it on the a new life in the sun. The staff were very helpful and friendly I have to say, however we all found the food disappointing, certainly not “Gastro” , expensive for what we got. The bar only accepts cash so be aware , no card machine. The inside of the bar is only tiny, yes most of the time because of the weather you can sit outside . Free parking available just outside

Found Rex’s by chance and boy was it a stroke of luck! The owner Simon was super nice and ready to give us a much needed beer after touring and shopping in Obidos! The chef-we didn’t get his name is in Simons words a genius. And he was! We needed something quick and he made us a fabulous chicken curry with a beautiful side salad in 5 min. When I say Fabulous that’s an understatement! Obidos is beautiful but we would go back just to eat at Rex’s! Cheers to Simon for doing it right!

I was so hungry for good pub food. Fortunately, our neighbors in the Pousada Castle recommended this place to us! We had the shrimp curry that came with a delicious salad which I have been yearning for as meals usually don’t have green salads here. Great service and good sangria. If you’re tired is same old/same old when traveling like us come here.
