We wanted a light lunch before touring the Gulbenkian Museum. We were more than pleased with the choice of the cafe. Choices were quite extensive, prices very reasonable. Service was a bit slow due to the crowd, but well worth the wait. Had a chance to sit our side by the gardens on a perfect day to top it all off.
They have an extensive menu with all sorts of choices from a full meal to a snack, and with drinks. Sit outside or in. Very busy on a Sunday with a long wait in line. Good food.
Do not plan to eat while at this lovely museum. We waited in line for 20 minutes and placed our orders. Room is lovely with an outdoor section, unfortunately filled with smokers. My husband's vegetarian special was horrible: cubes of raw tofu in a bland sauce with a big clump of white rice. I ordered the fish special: salmon with pasta. A few small pieces of salmon with a lot of macaroni. I also ordered beets because I saw them in a nice looking salad but instead they brought out red cabbage. It was the best part of an inedible meal. Full disclosure: we ate there 4 years ago and it was quite good so we had high expectations. maybe we just hit a very bad day.
