“During our holiday we were at this restaurant every day for breakfast or coffee. Very nice service. Delicious breakfasts, very filling and, above all, beautifully decorated coffees. I'm delighted ♥️
Vegetarian options: We had a vegetarian breakfast once, it was delicious. Warm beetroot puree with blanched spinach“

“I've been to this place before, a few times, and I have to say that even that being the case, I was positively surprised, today.
The food is always amazing, and I can assure that never disappoints.
However, despite the service always being great, today it was amazing. The staff was pleasant, funny, helpful and it really made for a great eating experience.
I'll will definitely come back.“
“I ordered the largest açai. The acai itself was pretty good. I give it an 8/10. When I asked for it too big, the end melted, but I was left wanting to continue eating. I put all the fruit they had available and it was very good (banana, kiwi, mango and grated coconut). They had neither forest fruits nor strawberries left. They had a lot of variety of granola and toppings.Good value for money. The largest cost €8.9 and the cheapest €5.5. I have tried many acai in Spain and I would order it again, although it is not the best in my life.“

“Absolutely gorgeous food, so inspiring. The flavours, authenticity and passion is so clear to see and to taste. Vegan options labelled clearly, vegan wines available too ~ also 95% gluten free. We visited Faro on a Sunday when many places are closed which helped this spot stand out and I am so glad because it does not disappoint. Such an incredible team making this place what it is. 5 stars if that was allowed on non vegan spots. Stunning. Updated from previous review on 2025-03-23“

“Small family-run restaurant a stone's throw from the center of Faro, the owner welcomed us in an extremely kind and friendly way, the fish Cataplana was an experience to absolutely try, all at a more than excellent price! We will definitely be back!“

“great prices in the center of Faro, also because today it is really hard to find salads for less than €16! Both salads and sandwiches are really good. Only advice: speed up the service a little and specify the constraints of the islands☺️“
“I was really looking forward to eating here! Sadly they had a few things missing from the menu and they never told us beforehand! The cheese plate and the veggie stew were both missing, which is what my parents were going for! They chose the risotto in the end, but somehow they only made one so they asked them to share until they made the other one (20-30 mins more, we were all finished by then). Didn't offer anything to compensate for the mistake. On top of that, you also couldn't really taste the butternut squash in the risotto. The wait time was also really long, over an hour. Hence, I will rate the service as disappointing, however the food was really cook especially their fake fish (tofu)! It's wrapped in multiple layers of seaweed and tastes lovely and healthy! Would've been nice to have a brown rice option though! We also ordered croquettes with vegan cashew cheese, which were amazing, my dad (big meat eater) absolutely loved them! Atmosphere was nice with candles in the toilet and small lights around the room, however, we found there was not plenty of space between the tables. Also outdoor seating would've been nice, but the location doesn't allow for that. Overall good place, but disappointed about the service.“

“Very good cataplana, we ordered the monkfish and seafood one, there were 2 of us, we had plenty left over and it was spectacular, we couldn't resist trying the fig pudding either. Highly recommended for quality, price and the treatment of the waiter and the cook who came to ask. It is not the typical tourist place, a local restaurant with traditional Portuguese food where what mattered was the food, not the decoration.“
“The cheapest coffee in town! After spending every penny in different coffee shops in Faro, we found this little shop and we got surprised with the bill, less than 5€ for 2 coffee latte (Galão) and 2 pastries.Good taste and good atmosphere with locals.“

“We shared a few plates for dinner, we enjoyed everything. The location is great, they have a nice terrace in a pedestrian street for the summer. Service is professional and we didn’t wait too much for the food to arrive. Prices are a bit high for Faro though.“

“January 23, 2024: For seven years we have been visiting Casa da Barreira on our trips to Sao Bras to enjoy a hot drink and a piece of cake. The standard hot drinks are a Bica cheia and a Meia de leite - you probably won't get better in the Algarve. The cakes today were a bolo de amêndoa with a fabulously airy dough under a dense layer of wonderfully sweet and sticky almond slivers and a bolo de abóbora (pumpkin cake) - recommended!“

“Surprise, surprise....our first time in Faro and full on 15 in the choice of restaurant for dinner.
Beautiful place, very friendly and professional staff.
More than correct cheese board to share and taste.
The gyozas are very delicious, the cheek bao is very good and the steak with egg and potatoes is an excellent meat in terms of treatment and quality.
Total success.
Contribution from the guide Danielin, try the economical and very surprising Alentejo wines Tinto don Gabriel reserva brutal.
It is a success to stop at this excellent restaurant.
Parking: At night it's easier than during the day“

“Amazing food. Really innovative flavour combinations that all worked really well. We had an amazing time trying a selection of the smaller dishes and are excited to come back to try the large plates!
Make sure to bring cash, would highly recommend as a must try!“
“This was another restaurant on my radar due to the frequencing of local people . We ate here twice and booked both times because it gets busy and people queue down the stairs. Both nights the service was spot on and quick considering it’s so busy. The garlic bread as usual is lovely and the portion sizes are huge. You get what you order and then chips, potatoes, rice and veg to share depending on what they have fresh that day. No room for puds. A glass of wine and a beer and the bill was 32 euros. Fantastic place, I am glad we found it.“

“Small bar near the historic center of the city but away from the hustle and bustle. The treatment of us by the staff was incredible. I highly recommend the francesinha, it is important to order homemade potatoes to accompany and dip in its sauce because it is truly incredible, the best I have ever tasted, and the seafood rice, for one person the portion is quite large. With these two dishes without any starter we ended up quite full, without a doubt a place to repeat and recommend.“

“I was really hungry so tried a starter, side salad and a main dish. Everything was excelent! Especially the vegan main (risotto with red beets). I really hope I will come back again, the food was delicious, fresh and nicely presented. It would convince even meat lovers that veggie food can be amazing“

“We came to this restaurant a bit by chance...we were looking for a simple restaurant far from cars and with freshness. This was the case, the meal and the dessert were exquisite: very fragrant and very fresh, all on a quiet little plot sheltered by a tree! We recommend!!“

“The food was high quality, fresh and delicious (roasted cauliflower, hummus, bread and vegan cheese). Servers were friendly and helpful. However, at first there was a problem to find a table for one person only. Then it was suggested that the dishes were made for sharing so I felt a bit weird coming alone. First round of couvert is for free, which was confusing as well. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-08“
“What a wonderful meal. We left Check-in for our last evening in Faro, where we had eaten well every day of our stay. However, this was the highlight. Beautiful plates that celebrated the ingredients rather than smothering them in other flavours. The starters were particularly delicious, and we loved the menu - it was difficult to choose! The highlight for me was the slow-cooked octopus, which was so soft it melted in the mouth. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, and the building (which I believe they moved into quite recently) is lovely. The restaurant’s own wine made for a good glass too! The price-quality was excellent. We have dined in many Michelin-started restaurants and, whilst this doesn’t have a star (yet!), it definitely deserved the accolade of being in the guide. Would return without hesitation.“

“They've been the pizza of choice at home for years and honestly, even a visit to the restaurant is good because the friendliness of the staff is spectacular. We have never had a bad experience at the restaurant. The home delivery time is actually quite long compared to what we are used to, but we started picking up the pizzas from the place and they are ready in 20 minutes.“

“This is a cute spot, the decoration is urban, they have a good selection on the menu and in the display as well. I tried their brunch special, as I was curious for the vegan fried egg. What I noticed was that the bagel had slightly different ingedrients, there was sausage on it despite bacon, which might be a mistranslation. The food was fresh and the bagel fluffy, tastewise it was good but it didnt overwhelm me with how unique or realistic it was. I also felt that the portion size wasnt very filling, especially for the price. I took a croqueta on the go though, which was super tasty! Very well seasoned and crispy, with the right amount of spice.“

“An essential address.
Subtle and generous dishes.
I had the pork cheek confit with figs, and it's been a long time since I enjoyed it this much.
The atmosphere on the terrace is very relaxing.
The service is impeccable.
Go for it!“
