Loved the gambas: the sauce is to die for! Top dish!!! Friendly service. Nice seaview. Calamari was OK, good sauce, but we had better (and far worse) this is a 7/10. This is probably a dish they don't prepare completely themselves. So it's a suggestion for their cook :-) First time we tried the lapas: tasty.

This was a great find on a road trip day in Madeira. At 4:30pm we were able to be seated at a table right away under an umbrella. The limpets were the best I had on the island, and the flavour was unreal - I would recommend getting bread with it to dip. We ordered a 1L passion fruit sangria and it was the perfect amount for the two of us, and very good. We order a seafood platter for two and chose the octopus and calamari. The octopus came with sauce and onions, and the calamari was breaded. I wouldn’t get the calamari again, as it was breaded, and instead would get the shrimp as our second seafood. The fries were homemade and abundant. We couldn’t finish all the food. Our bill was under 50 euro. I recommend roaming the little streets as they are beautiful with nautical tile/stones.

If you ever reach Paul do Mar, do yourself a favor and stop at O Ideal for a meal. I had shrimps and my girlfriend had octopus, both were delicious. 5 stars

I went here twice with my partner. You sit with a view of the ocean and have a great selection of seafood, meat, and great drinks. The service was fast and really friendly. I had very delicious seafood both days and have to say that it was the best restaurant we ate at during our stay in Madeira.

After eating mediocre sea food in most restaurants, we ended up following TA reviews to come to this wonderful place. The limpids were exceptional (I think a favourite as most tables around us were eating them) and were the shrimps/prawns. The meal was extremely well priced for the quality of the seafood. The owner and staff were also great. Worth a detour to this small town on the coast.

We eat heare visiting Paul do Mar with family and friends and it was the place where we have the best experience in the area, regarding food and service. All dished ther we ordered, 7 people, are tasty , fish, mussels and all the meats are fresh and the sweets are very good. Totaly recomand this place for a authentic Madeira experience.
We had limpets for starters and they were surprisingly delicious! Tuna steak was really good as well as the scabbard fish. Went there on a recommendation of the locals and haven’t regret it!

This is absolutely the greatest place in Paul do Mar. Local vibes are strong and the food is stunning! Tasty drinks and awesome poncha! The limpets are to kill for and my favorite tuna tapas always make my day better. And do not forget the house fries! OMG - SO GOOD! Do not hesitate - come here for breakfast, lunch or dinner! The service is fabulous and the location is the best.

It was the best lunch we’ve had on Madeira. The place seemed not very inviting from the outside, but the owner serves tasty meals with a heartwarming smile. The portions are huge, especially considering the price. Not to mention a superb view. Definetely recommended!
