Typical tavern, with simple and well-prepared food. We had a choice of 3 dishes, we chose the bitoque. Everything was fresh and looking good. Mr. Euclides turned lunch into an experience. Very fun gentleman and provides a differentiated service.
Very good house wine and comes fresh.
We paid €23 for two people, 2 dishes and a jug of wine.

Very hot day in the middle of August. There was an attempt to keep the place less hot, but it was difficult to do better without AC. Very competent and efficient service. Well prepared food.

Excellent local food in a family run traditional style Portuguese restaurant. Super friendly staff. Great value. Well worth a detour if you are passing through here. Highly recommend.

We drove 30m out of our way, purposely to have lunch here because of the seemingly great reviews.COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT.Owner extremely rude, locals dining next to us said he treats customers depending on his mood, but mostly he is in a foul mood and they still laughed about it.Must be a cultural thing. He (owner) spits on everything he touches to serve you with. Surreal.Got to a point we just had to get up and leave, which we should have done as we walked in because it smelt like a fried food place and we decided to stay anyway against our good judgment and then, when we left, we smelt like fried food from head to toe.An experience I wish not to repeat. If all you care about is saving a few cents and you don't mind paying to be mistreated, or literally spat on, enjoy!

We had the goat (chafana) and it was the best we've had, ever! You can tell the chef has a gift and cooks with love. The soup was also the best I've had in Portugal. We ate the goat (chafana) and it was the best we've ever eaten! You can tell that the chef has a gift and cooks with love. Very pleasant restaurant, friendly and good service. Food well cooked and well presented. I liked the simplicity of this restaurant but with a great atmosphere. Excellent value for the complete meal. As it is a small restaurant you may have to wait a little but it is worth the wait. When passing through Penacova, this place is worth a visit.

Tasquinha do Clides doesn't even need an evaluation... traditional Portuguese and regional dishes prepared like the old days. I wouldn't exchange a dish in this tavern for any of the so-called great dishes of Portuguese gastronomy.
