Rarely during my stay in Portugal have a had such a disappointing experience going out to eat as here. The staff is borderline rude and don't seem to care about their customers. Training in hospitality might not be a bad idea. Then there is the restaurant itself. It is very outdated, which is not the end of the world, but the kitchen is disgusting to say the least and the chef definitely did not have a good day when i was there. As a starter I had a fish soup, which came with macaroni (?!) and barely any fish. However, credit where credit is due, it tasted okay. But then the main course: octopus. I ordered a bunch of side dishes as the staff tried to communicate in broken English that it didn't come with anything, except the octopus itself. Boy where they wrong. The octopus dish comes with cooked potatoes and something that either resembles asperegus or sea weed. Only god knows what it was. The octopus dish is enough to feed two people and I definitely thought in the beginning that I had made a mistake ordering side dishes. That is, until I had a taste. To summarise, it was not for me, nor do I think any one else will really enjoy it. Flavours where lacking, which will become a reoccurring theme, and the potato was mushy and did not inspire any confidence. Then the side dishes of French fries and a simple salad consisting of tomato, salad and onions. Nothing special you would think, but here again, flavours where completely absent. No matter how much salt I put on the fries, they still tasted dead. No amount of wizardry or resurrection could save these, and the same goes for the salad. The tomatoes had no flavour what so ever, as did the salad and onions. The only thing that gave away that it was a salad was because of the texture. And you would think that I would conclude this review by saying that I payed €10 for all the above and that I am just a complainer. All of the above, including water which came in a plastic water bottle (?), came in at €40. That was for just one person... I have been all over Portugal and in Porto as well and I can tell you from experience that you can get much, much better, for a lot less money. Please do not bother coming here and take your hard earned money elsewhere. I will not be making a return to this restaurant if that wasn't abundently clear.

I stayed 8 nights in Porto. This restaurant was about 4 blocks from my hotel. The staff were always welcoming and helpful, some spoke very good English. The menu was also printed in English. Selections were varied and portions large. Cost was very reasonable. Please support them if you're in town!

Great food, great side, kind staff, excellent price. Best meat I ate in the last month! It should be a mandatory stop of every holiday in Porto!

Recommend to us by a local from the area, we decided to give it a go. Don’t be put off by the outside, it looks like a cafe but there is a large dining area to the rear. Menu is written in pigeon English but one of the staff called Bruno was on hand to help answer questions. Chateaubriand, fries and salad was our choice. The meat came rare and sliced, cooked with garlic in a beef sauce. No complaints. Wine list was good. The staff were not overbearing at all. The restaurant began to fill up during the later evening hours. To end we shared a lemon sorbet served in a frozen lemon shell. The whole meal was very tasty and came to 43euro. Overall a very good experience.

Terrible. Most expensive restaurant I have been at. Food is distasteful. The cola was good. Very very quick service. Food was cold. Cleaned up my plate while I was eating. No idea why this restaurant has good reviews.

Generous portions and friendly staff in a relaxed environment. Many locals buy take away, food fresh to order. Excellent value for money. Be aware staff speak little English.
