Excellent food the best I have whilst I have been here for over a week. They were really busy and I hadn’t booked but the lovely Sam fitted me in and I had a lovely meal.

I have been twice for dinner with family - they are regulars and love it. We don’t hold back when ordering and I suspect we can be a little ‘unconventional’. Not demanding - I hope- but we will order extras to try them. Never disappointed here I must say. It’s always a ‘Yes’ to any request. I loved every morsel with special praise going to my cherry profiteroles which were by any standard, sublime. I should have ordered another portion to take out as a treat the following night. Sam and Nick are just a lovely couple and cope wonderfully with our non- stop chattering. I enjoyed it so much I picked up the bill. See you again as soon as we get back to the Algarve.

We had a really lovely evening at lavrador by the log fire on a chilly ish night . The food & wine were delicious .. We have rebooked already ..thank you Sam for being so welcoming . Sally & Graham

Had the most delicious lunch here. We had the cauliflower soufflé and salmon crumpet to start, both amazing but my particular favourite was the soufflé. Then the pork with crackling and black pudding mash, again absolutely delicious. We loved it so much we booked to go back three days later to try the rest of the food on the menu. Just a shame we don’t live closer as we would love to try their Sunday roasts. However we will definitely visit every-time we head to the algarve. Highly recommend.

Popped in just for a snack, so we only had starter’s I had smoked salmon on a muffin with horseradish which was good my friend had the pate, again very nice apart from the “cheap” bread I can buy at not so far away supermarket. You could at least try making your own or even go down to the for mentioned supermarket and spend a little more on bread

Great local restaurant, fresh local produce and fresh salads I had the spicy fish cakes followed by the home made burger which were great good choice of Portuguese wine and other drinks .

I was recently at this establishment, it took me a while to get a table as the restaurant gets full at lunch time but that's understandable. After waiting, I placed my order and I can say that it's not very good but it's not bad either, otherwise the attendant was friendly and I liked her attitude.

Having seen on the channel 4 programme A New Life in the Sun that the owners had worked so hard to open this restaurant we just had to visit whilst we in the Algarve. We had Sunday lunch and weren’t disappointed. A choice of five fabulous Sunday roasts and yummy desserts. We were greeted warmly and it was deliciously cool in the traditional restaurant. The outside terrace is very pretty too. Excellent service from the team and fabulous food. This will become a must do when we are back here. The 30 minutes drive into the countryside was well worth it.
This is our 3rd visit. Absolutely exceptional Sunday Lunch, each course was of an excellent quality. The food is so good that whenever we visit the Algarve we purposely hire a car to ensure we can easily get there. The live music really adds to the positive experience and creates a home from home feel. Sam, Nick and the team are really welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Thanks for another great afternoon and we are looking forward to our next visit - the Algarve is lucky to have you !!

A great big thanks to Sam, Nick and the staff for their hospitality on our visits. As usual, the standards of the food and service is exceptional. Can not recommend O Lavrador restaurant enough, as proven by the amount of regular returning customers . Can't wait to return. Thanks to all Karen and Pete

The food at O Lavrador was very enjoyable. The Souffle and Pork Loin were especially good. The Wine List could include brands that people are more familiar with like Chamine. And the Owner did say this was being looked into. We also had the feeling that the Owner was rather tense and stressed and a warmer welcome would have been appreciated. Reading the negative reviews I think the Owners would be better off taking a less confrontational approach seeking to address any negative comments in a more measured and calmer way. Getting angry and rubbishing negative comments does not help to create a positive impression. Better to say 'we will look into this and hope you will return'.
